Anomaly scan and dilation of the fetal renal pelvis

Evening ladies

I wonder if anybody can help please, I had my 20 week scan today and everything was ok except the babys left pelvis a-p measured 7.0mm (I think this was something to do with the kidney as she said the baby could suffer from UTI's). The sonographer said anything under 5mm was normal. Originally she said they were both dilated approx 6.0 mm but when she re-checked she said the right was just on 5.0mm.

She said it could be as simple as the baby needing to do a wee but I have to be re-scanned at 32 weeks and if it is the same will get referred to a Consultant. I just wondered if anybody had ever had this, I have been so nervous up until now and said to myself that if everything was ok today then I would start buying and relax but I can't leave it until 32 weeks!!

Humm not sure have you googled to find out? Just had a look at my notes as I had ,y 20wk scan today but its not got anything recorded to compare.

Thanks for your reply, I don't think it is one of the measurements they record in your notes, mine is written as an addition I think as it is outside the normal range.

Sorry can't offer any advice but I hope you don't worry too much. Easier side than done I know
