Hiya,

I had a glance at google but all I got was "There is a risk" rather than any real info as to the risks involved, and how high those risks are.

Has anyone had one for downs testing or similar? Or going to have one?

What are your thoughts on them?

(Havent had back whether high or low risk for downs, But prenatal DNA is done via amniocentis aswell, so thinking i will just have both done at once if i can arrange it.)

Hi, I had this done on the 8th of June. It was horrible. I wish I hadn't had it done as actually, seeing my baby on the screen and bonding instantly it wouldn't have changed anything.

The procedure was painful, I fainted afterwards (twice) and felt unwell and upset for days.

It's obviously each to their own but if I had my time over again I wouldn't have it done, it wasn't worth it nor was it worth the worry for 3 weeks waiting for the results.

I completely agree..I researched on this quite a bit and found that this is very painful and there is also a risk of miscarriage. If there is any risk then the midwife/doc automatically tells you to go through otherwise you can skip it...
