Has anyone else had regularly alternating cycle lengths?

Since stopping BCP, mine have been 33, 44, 31, 32, 46, 33, 41, 32, 43, 32...so now seem to be in an almost regular pattern of approx 42 then approx 32..

I was taking BCP for 15 years before TTC, and now worrying about the impact this may have had..I guess I never anticipated that it could take so long TTC.

I also recently had an MRI scan on a hip injury I have, and I noticed in the write up that it referenced that I have cysts on both ovaries, which has also caused me to worry further :(

Any similar experiences or advice anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

I experienced something similar when I first stated ttc, my cycles vary from 32 days to 64 now. I have pcos.

The cysts on your ovaries could be an indication of this coupled with your varying cycle lengths.

I’d recommend seeing your gp as there are some tests they can do to check, normally a blood test and ultrasound.

My cycle varies from 29-38 days though this time it’s 43 and counting, lol. As far as I know I don’t have any other issues.

For 6 or so months my cycles alternated from 28 days and 34 days on the dot. The FS just said that one ovary is just slow in developing an egg. I don’t have PCOS, cysts or any issues that have come up on tests.

I would also recommend seeing the GP to kick start tests, particularly if cysts have been identified x

If you have cysts on your ovaries it could be PCOS. People can miss it whilst on BC because the BC can change how your ovaries present (Sonographers told me).

I’d keep documenting your cycle length and go see the doctor to kick start tests so you know one way or the other.

I’ve always had weird cycle patterns. For two months I’ll be 29/30 days and then the next one I’ll be 34/35. Not always in that pattern but fairly regularly. I had it checked out and there’s nothing wrong with me so whilst it could be a sign of something like PCOS, some women just aren’t that regular!
