So we're team yellow and between two names for a boy and a girl. Opinions please ladies...

Girl names:
April
Zoë

BUT you need to know the middle name will be May (hubby insists a girl has my middle name as our son has his). I just think everyone will take the piss with 'April May' and throw June in etc. We do love April and were both born in April and married on April Fools Day (what does that say about us?!) but I just worry about the middle name thing.

Boy names:
Teddy John (Ted but nicknamed Teddy for baby/toddler stage as I don't like Theodore)
Christian John

Last name is Goodacre so not a simple one to pair with!

Love April but like you say if hubby insists on May as the middle name people are bound to make jokes somewhere along the line! Zoe is lovely too and sounds good with May. Like both the boys names too but think I prefer teddy, sounds cute x

Thanks Cornish, I love the cute factor of Teddy too and think Ted is a good strong man's name for later years.

Our son is Bailey Edward and hubby wanted Edward again and I said 'Teddy Eddy?! That sounds ridiculous! You've had your chance to pass on your name' Both our dad's middle names are Edward so everyone was a winner with that one though don't think FIL liked 'Bailey' though says he has grown into his name. FILs first name is John so he'll probably like that but hate Teddy. Oh well you had three of your own kids to name!

The name April is lovely and see your concerns about people joking around with the middle name! Maybe you could have a double barrelled first name? then have may as the middle name? Just an idea

I think I like Teddy John for a boys name sounds lovely. xx

Again, i like the name April but to be honest i wouldnt use it with may as a middle name. I really like teddy for a boy x

I love April as a girl's name too. However I also think April May might not be the best combination even though I think both names are really pretty. I prefer May spelled Mae, though, which I think does not even seem that bad anymore if you read April Mae... however, if you say the name out loud I guess it doesn't make so much of a difference :/

Zoe May is a pretty name too, though =)

Think your right about the April may thing, could you have 2 middle names maybe?
My ds middle name is Edward or teddy for short, I call him teddy or little bear quite often

I suggested two middle names but hubby was not up for that I also suggested not using May and maybe having something like April Abigail instead but he wasn't keen on that either. The good thing is that neither Zoë nor April are popular. Neither it seems is Teddy or Christian. One of our big things with name choices is having uncommon but not too weird names. I'm a teacher so I have negative connotations with so many names but have also taught classes with multiple kids with same name. I currently teach a class with 3 Isabelles, 2 Henrys, 2 Williams and 2 Evies. I have taught a class with 3 Jacks in and my son's class has only 22 kids and 4 of them are called Harry!

Does your hubby not think April may sounds like a bit of a calendar thing too? Both names are lovely maybe Zoe is a better option? Must be hard working with so many children and picking names!

He does see the calendar thing too, but we saw a cheesy Christmas movie on Christmas24 channel where a character was actually called April-May and he thought it was ok. However I think since then he's been changing his mind. We also stumbled across the BabyNameWizard American website which actually has comments on it from people with each name. Many of them said (even without May as middle name) that they got fed up with comments about other months and whether they were born in April. My other minor hesitation on the name itself is nicknames like 'ape' etc :/ hmmm I think I'm talking myself out of it aren't I?!!

April is nice, but you do have to think of all the possible nick names they can end up with and how happy you are with them, and initials! Maybe you will have a boy and not need to worry!

April was always on my girls list but i wanted it if a girl was born in april tho
I had my daughter in march! Im not sure about april with may if im honest esp as your due very late feb and could roll into march too so April May born in March. Lovely name without May and im pretty sure no other teasing would happen ape etc its a good name.

Zoe goes nicely with your last name and is not common now

Teddys a good name too but i love Christian it was on my list and hubby didnt entertain it. My brothers a Christopher and he was always a chris from about 13 so think youd have to like chris too but that would be my choice -Christian and April xx

Heard a lovely girls name on an advert for kids telly this week , a cartoon with daughters of disney princesses , sleeping beautys child was called Briar , dont know how popular it would get but April Briar sounds fab

Love April..see what you mean with May....our daughter is Grace Olivia Mae, like others have suggested, maybe have two middle names .... or change the spelling like we did.

All lovely names though xxx
