I'm currently 26+4 pregnant, I apologise if this is TMI. I'm seriously constipated but I did have bad diarrhoea. It alternates and has been like this since the beginning. But recently I have really bad pain in my right side. It's not round ligament pain (I have had that) this is different, more of a dull, constant pain deep inside. It hurts to press that side or move. I asked my midwife about it but she told me she didn't know what it could be, I asked if I should go hospital and she advised against it saying: you don't want to sit in the hospital for a few hours when it could be nothing (not helpful at all) so while I know no one here probably has medical knowledge I'm hoping someone else has had or is having the same experience. Should I be worried??

I'd ring your maternity assessment unit and ask to go in and see them. If I have a patient who is over 22-24 weeks I always ring maternity rather than A&E as they can decide to see them or not. If you are worried and have pain, it needs to be investigated. And yes, you may end up sitting in hospital for several hours but wouldn't you rather do that and be told it's nothing than continue to worry without knowing? I don't think your midwife has xray vision and although it's probably nothing, or related to your bowel movements - I'd still go get checked out xx

I don't mind sitting for hours if it means knowing my baby is ok, thanks for the advice. I will contact my maternity unit, I just thought it was weird the midwife advising against it because she contradicted herself, she felt my stomach and I nearly jumped off the bed from the pain she admitted that I shouldn't be sore to the touch then said not to go.
