Advice with prednisone / steriods?

After 6 chemical pregnancies (from 5 IUIs and 1 IVF) I've been advised to try with clexane and prednisone injections. I'm ok with the clexane (in principe that is - i have to get over needle fear), but feel uncertain about steroids. I know the steriods pass to the baby, and there's a potential increased risk of cleft lip. Does anyone else have advice on this - how was it taking steriods? Was it a big decision for anyone else?
I have factor v leiden, potential protein s deficiency, but no other obvious issues (clear HSG, clear hysteroscopy, 37 yrs). After 6 chemical pregnancies something dramatic has to change to get a different outcome...

I didn't even have to think about it. I'm on epilepsy meds anyway which have similar effects and I've had to get used to those risks though. xxx
