Basically I am currently bf baby itl be 3 weeks in Friday however I have a horse and have to go to the farm in winter to do him - of course I can't take a tiny baby to sit in dirty tack room in cold just incase he wants feeding so I thought about expressing a bottle so if he wakes my oh can give him it.

We also are going on honeymoon in June when lo will be 7 months and he's not coming so I do need to get him to take a bottle ready for this but when would you introduce it?

How practical do u find bf? I mean I don't have time to sit and feed all day which is what I seem to do at the minute I just feel like when the horse comes in really going to struggle to do both I don't want to give up bf I love it and of course max Is more important than my horse but fact is I need to feed my son and I need to do my horse .

Get yourself a stretchy wrap, that way you can BF on the move at home. I introduced an infrequent bottle at around 3 weeks. Some people love that they are the only ones that can feed baby...personally I found it a hindrance and I like the freedom if knowing someone else can feed (although they rarely do!)

This may sound awful but.My kids quite happily come to the horses with me well wrapped up obviously they just learn to watch the horses My eldest loves going down now and won her first rosette at the grand old age of 9 months old at the yards Xmas show (in the fancy dress) xx

Hun we were all brought up at a riding school. Wrap baby up warm in pushchair and feed where ever you can find a warm spot. Tack room sounds fine to me! But if you want to get baby used to a bottle start now and don't stop!!! My lo used to take a bottle when few months if we tried but I couldn't be bothered with expressing so stopped and now she refuses every bottle I've tried!!!!! So I'd suggest atleast one expressed bottle a day really xxx

I might add I'm a bit of a clean freak nowadays but honestly if a baby is wrapped up warm in a pushchair I don't see a problem. Being out in fresh air instead of tack room isn't a problem is it? Feed before you go. Luxury of breastfeeding is they rarely refuse so feed when it suits you. Xxx

I know what your saying but it's not exactly safe to have baby in a pushchair on his own whilst I'm doing my jobs mucking out is it? If horse gets loose which he could there could be major accident also when I want to ride or lunge him I wouldn't feel happy thinking baby was sat at side of arena for same reasons
I dunno? Il just have to see how we go
Maybe il have to express a bottle just for when I'm at yard and oh can give it?

Obviously if you were going to ride etc I wouldn't have suggested you should leave a baby in a pushchair while you do that. If you have the option to leave lo with OH when there your answer. Sometimes people don't have a choice so just thought maybe sometimes your OH wouldn't be about so taking your lo was the only option.

I don't know about horses (wish I did!!) But just wanted to say good luck and I'm sure you'll work out a new routine that suits everyone. It'll just be different now as you have your LO. It'll work out in the end xx
