Hi

Me and my girlfriend are trying for a baby and her last period date that she was due, she was a week late and then when she did come on her periods she was on for 3 days... Could this possibly be a pregnancy?
When she didnt come on she tryed 2 tests in that week but it was negative.

I personally would say that it is was her period so no it is not a pregnancy. My periods often only last 3-4 days. Was her periods light or heavy? was the blood red? I know you will not know and sorry I am sure that it is far too much information for a man :D .

How long have you been TTC for? (if you don't mind me asking?) are your girlfriends period normally regular?

Does your girlfriend do charting? or thought about charting? as that is a fab way to learn about her cycles and her body.

Sorry for all the qustions just trying to get some back ground as that might help us (lovely) ladies to help suggest something that might help you.

Her 3 day period was heavy but the last week she has been being sick alot (i forgot to add that) we have been trying for a baby for about 5 months.
And yeah her periods are normaly fine each month, she doesnt do a chart no...

I would say with it being heavy then it was her period  some woman do keep getting periods when pregnant but I think that it is rare  When I have a heavy period I sometimes feel sick for a week so maybe your gf is the same?

I am not sure what else to suggest  Like I said in my previous post charting is a good way to find out about your gf's body, it can help pin point ovulation. A lot of woman on here also use a site called fertility friend! that you put your gf details into (morning temp, cm, etc etc) and that helps work out your most fertile days pinpoint ovulation and it is free although the more advanced version costs a little bit but the basic is just as good.

There is a very good book called 'Taking Charge Of Your Fertility' by Toni Weschler' It is my bible!! I highly recommend it it has taught me sooooo much.

Sorry that I have not been much help really.

Sending you both babydust.

Since i last posted my girlfriend has still been being sick alot day and night.
She hasnt taken another test since.

If she's still being sick, I'd suggest taking another pregnancy test! I know a friend of mine who had her period and thought she'd conceived in the follow cycle who found out that she'd actually conceived 4 weeks earlier, BEFORE she bled. If the test is negative...go to the doctor asap, b/c no one should be getting sick like that.

Good luck and take care!

Melissa

Sorry if i am being a pain posting again hehe.

Right following my last post my girlfriend was due on her periods 6 days ago now and she hasnt comeon but she has been being sick still but only now and again.
I keep saying about having another test but she keeps putting it off, i think it is the fact it mite say negative again.

has she had any other symptons? also has she been stressed recently?

Funny you should say that.
She did go to the doctors yesterday but coz it was a stand in doctor she didnt say anything about her not coming on.
But the reason she did go is coz she has been sneezing but they have said its a viral infection and have given her an inhaler (blue)

Ok, this is a bit dangerous - did she tell the doc that she thinks she might be pregnant? There are a LOT of meds you simply CANNOT take while pregnant - tell her she has to take another pregnancy test!!!

I totally agree - if nothing else, at least seek some advice about the medication.

You could either ring NHS Direct or you could check with your pharmacist as to whether what you are taking is safe during pregnancy.

She has been in touch and they have told her just to use it when you really need to, and they told her that if you use it to much it can crystallize your heart so think thats scared her abit.

But she has been getting pains alot in her stomach, this has happend before going to the doctors thou.

If it's a blue inhaler, chances are it is ventolin (may say salbutamol on the box) which is perfectly safe to use during pregnancy. Infact it can be dangerous NOT to use it if it is needed. Can you check and see what it is?

That's fine to take then, as long as you don't exceed the recommended dosage :)

Right...
At last she has just taken a test a few moments ago in town and she has just phoned me and it says if 2 lines come up your pregnant but 2 lines have come up but one is a different colour to the other.
She has also just been to into the chemist and shown them and they said it looks like she is and to do another test.
