I've had increased cramping and back pain for over an hour now. Tried paracetamol, hot packs and cold packs, sitting in diff positions, and a little bit of walking, to no effect. I'll only be 36 weeks tomorrow - so I'm not sure if I should call the ward to let them know what's going on, or if it's ok to give it another hour or so to see what happens. :/

Yeah, def give them a call, even if it's only to put your mind at rest. I had the same sort of thing about 2 weeks ago. They put me on the monitor and I was having little contractions every 10 mins or so, but my cervix was closed and all ok. Turns out it's an irritable uterus.
They'd rather you went in to get checked, rather than stress about what it could be. Hope it's all ok xx

Agree no harm in calling them they might ask you to go in for monitoring. Hope everything ok x

better safe than sorry, honey.. give them a quick call just ask for advice, they may ask you in just to monitor - i think you'll be more at ease/relaxed after speaking to someone, even if they literally tell you have a bath, relax and call back if anything changes.. xxxx

How r things hun? Anything timetable? Hope you've managed to speak to someone and gotten some advice xx

Doing better this morning. They had us go in for monitoring last night. I had a few strong contractions, but nothing regular. The dr checked me over and said there was no sign of active labor, just some very strong bh. Managed to get home by 1 am, so taking the day off work to rest. He did say her head is extremely low (his own words were 'wow her head is there!') lol, which explains all the added pressure. If the pain gets any worse, they told me to try cocodemol (sp?), although I'm going to try and avoid it.

Thanks for all the replies :)

Glad to hear from u! Sounds like things might not b far off then eh? Hope u get to rest today xx

We were relieved. As soon as we got there things calmed down - how typical lol. Something tells me we might not hit the 40 week mark before Emily makes an appearance. Our next appointment is in two weeks - we'll see what the consultant says then. :)

ah, glad you got checked out and everything was okay! rest well xxxxx

I don't think you'll hit 40 weeks either, but u never know!! Take it easy xx
