Evening all, I really want this month to be my month!

I am thinking of trying Ovulation test or a Fertility monitor, what is the difference? I have seen they have a couple of bogof offers in boots so going to give it a go.

I have an app on my phone and it does give me a rough idea of when my fertile time and the ovulation day on my phone did match the day I got the pain but I want to try these tests so I can be sure.

thanks x

I don't know what the diff is I'm afraid but didn't want to read and run.

How does the app work then? I don't have a clue when I ov- all I know is that it is not on day 14 when I thought it would be!! Makes things difficult when everything has to be in the right place at the right time! hehe!

My app said I was ovulating on the Wednesday and that morning I had sharpe ovulating pains but I don't know for sure that's why I want to try these tests x

I think the monitor is to monitor temperature which gives an idea of when your fertile (someone correct me if im wrong) and ovulation tests are like pregnancy tests, u pee on them and the will tell you for definite whether you have ovulated and if so you should have sex over the next 48 hours. From what I understand he ovulation tests are more reliable. Ive got the app too, you log the dates of your periods and it tells you when the next ones due, and predicts your fertile days as well as the exact date u should ovulate. I got a 20 tests on ebay for £3.50 which is better than paying £15 for 7 in Boots! How long u been trying Poppy? x

The clear blue fertility monitor comes with pee sticks but tells you digitally if you're fertile or not with no need to squint at sticks and lines xxx

Hi Poppy,

I'm using the clearblue fertility monitor for the first time. You set the monitor the first day after your period. You then start peeing on the sticks cd6 and there are three bars, low fertility, high fertility and peak fertility, peak is when you're due to ovulate.

I feel so much more relaxed using the monitor as it takes the guessing away. It also reduces the stress for me if I'm away with work or if my hubby is away, when I know I'm low fertility I don't stress.

I've also used the digi sticks (smiley face clear blue Ovu tests) they were good the first month then I struggled to detect ovulation since then. In May I ovulated cd12 and 13 so I assumed it was always the case so I've been being at TOTALLY the wrong time, what an idiot!

I feel like I'm doing everything I can and I feel I'm more in control.

Hope that helps!

Xx

Thanks for all your replies, i will try and get down to boots today and pick something. x

Hi Bianca, I have been trying since May this year, not too long but seems like years!

I just started in June so only 3 months but u do start to worry when it doesn't happenstraight away don't you. All I can think of is babies ATM!

My friend got pregnancy twice in her first cycle of coming off the pill so I thought the same would happen to me, I was wrong!
