Hi ladies. A friend of mines is about to start IVF for the first time. Shes in her early forties and in good health. Im really trying to support her and was wondering if there was any thing she could be doing in advance to prepare herself physically/emotionally? Is there any thing she could do to help improve her chances or is that maybe a silly question? I really want it to work for her and help if I can. Thanks in advance xx

Good luck to your friend.

I don't think there's much beyond the obvious of eating well & trying not to have too much stress from other things going on.

I changed my diet to cut out aspartame & have more protein in the cycle it worked, but we are all different (I probably didn't eat enough protein in the first place - am vegan).

best wishes xx

Does aspartame affect it? Isnt that the stuff in coke etc? I just really want it to work for her and if there was any way I could help at all.

To be honest it's probably not relevant at all but you never know - it's in lots of diet drinks

I think the thing with IVF is that it's sold as a miracle problem solver but you only hear the success stories, never the ones (the majority of the time) where it doesn't work out. I did it 3 times and never had anything to freeze, which was a shock the first time.

Still we are all different and I really hope it works out xx

Thanks shes starting the drugs in a couple of weeks so fingers crossed for her! And good luck to u as well thanks for your advice xx

Good luck to your friend. Is her partner supportive? That's very important. X
