OH got paid Saturday and instead of him getting his usual £990 he only drew £422! He went to work yesterday and queried this as obviously something wasnt right, he had had 3 weeks off sick starting the end of July and didnt get a full wage last month so we thought his sickness had been taken off that wage as his manager told him he had accrued at least a weeks full sick pay. Anyway, they are saying its right, which has screwed us over as it is! So we are gonna be unable to pay some bills but thought that as we get £200 a week in child and working tax credits that this would pay for the rent and give us a little bit of money to live on at least until OH gets paid again! Received a letter from hmrc...as of tomorrow OH's working tax is getting reduced from £88 to £16 meaning we will now get £128...the rents flaming £130  this is just horrible, i have no clue what to do or how to get through this, dont know if were entitled to help or anything!
His work already angered me when we had Elexis as they said he wasnt entitled to paternity pay, we couldnt find his contract at the time to work out when he started with them but we were sure he was entitled, anyway we have found his contract and it seems he started before the cut off for paternity!
Everything that can go wrong with money has! I'm not worried for me or OH, its my girls i feel sorry for, i wanted more from life for them, not this shit! Everythings just a mess :(

aww hun chin up as hard as it is. Things always dip n go crappy n eventually they will get better.
Id defo look into getting help there must be something x

think were gonna go to the job centre tomorrow and see if theres any help available, we seriously dont have a single penny to live on, even paying the rent every week is gonna be border line  we have never been this bad ever!

xx

We had this happen to us yesterday! The bills all went out of OHs bank but his boss hasn't paid him for over 2 weeks now! It's ridiculous x

its awful aint it hun :( hope you get sorted soon :hugs:

xx

not yet, OH went to the job centre and they have given him a number to ring which he's going to do today! Really hope there is some help out there for us at this tough time, we dont even know how we are going to pay certain bills etc! Rents covered in a round about way but everything else isnt :(

xx

Your oh's employer might be able to give him a hardship advance, has he asked? x

yeah, when he queried his wage monday his manager said she had asked head office if he could have an advance on his wage and they said no...thats nice init when he has a young family to provide for!

xx

Aw hun

Why did your tax credits go down? Have they sent you a letter to say they would go down and the reason for it?

What kind of job does your OH have? I cant think of any valid reason why his wages would be cut if he gets the same amount every month. The only reason I can think of this happening is if he was self employed or on a bonus/commission?

There is a cpl of websites you can go on which will tell you what (if any) benefits you are intitled to, including housing ben & tax credits, it will give you the same figure the job centre would give you, however if your OH is self employed or on commission it might not be as straightforward to get an accurate figure.

I think one of the websites is called entitled to.

tax creds went down because we had put in a wrong figure back in April for what OH had earned, think we got a tad cofused with the years etc!

As for his wage, basically he was on sick for 3 week starting the back end of July, when he got paid last month his wage was down, he drew £930 with £120 ssp on that wage so we assumed that that wage was down because of the sickness and also his manager told him he had accrued enough days to get full sick pay for at least a week...fast forward to this wage, they have apparently accidently paid some ssp on the last wage and he wasnt entitled to full sick pay either, his manager basically called him a liar and that she never told him he was, i was there when she told him over the phone that he was entitled! So basically, last months wage need querying as if you take the 120 ssp off that leaves him £200 down on that wage, he only had 2 days of unpaid leave off, so that cant be right! As for this wage, £422, £580 or there abouts down...now how the hell do they get that when he had some ssp onto that wage also, i cant understand where they have got their figures from at all!

We have been to the job centre, he is elegible to claim housing benefits and income support while he's on sick! Just gotta manage until they are sorted as both claims need the same documents sending so we cant do both at the same time!

To top it off he got a letter from work this morning, on that Monday when he went in about his wage he did flip and kicked a trolley. The letter is saying he has anger issues and that they need to be addressed as its not the only occasion where his anger has got the better of him (he's never flipped before so dunno where they got that from) and then also sent him some documents about councelling i mean seriously wtf...tell me if i'm being paranoid but i'm sure they are trying to think of a way to get rid of him as they know he has health issues and does have to have time off otherwise it effects his work!

Sounds like they pushing him out hun. James had same thing with agency as he had week off because he hurt his knee so they said his sickness was too high. He was on crutches so how the hell could he work also he handed in a self sick note thing. They arse holes think the recession is getting to everything again x

You'll get through it xxxx

My oh has a very very bad back, but is terrified to say anything in work cos they'll axe him

 thanks hun, i'll return the favour if we win haha! init awful when they struggle through work while not right in case they get sacked or whatever, jamie has put up with it for months now but with how they have been i think he's past caring what they do

xx

It's shit, but that's what we get for having pride in working!
Can he start looking for other jobs? X

true, he's on sick atm, really not fit for work mentally, physically he's in fine working order but his head is screwed, waiting on councelling for him and if these latest meds dont work he's been sent to see a specialist! And its only got worse since he's been back in work :(

xx

Aw that's pants! Bet the money stuff doesn't help when he's trying to get better!
Hope things get better really quick for you x x

No it hasnt helped at all, its made him worse tbh, but apart from sticking with his meds and waiting for his councilling app to come through theres nothing he can do!

xx
