abbreviations

Hi all.
Only joined a couple of days ago and I've caught on to some of the abbreviations for things but a lot of them are giving me trouble. Is there a thread already in place for the short versions or do I just keep my brain going in trying to solve them? Mind you, my brain does need a work out
