So, today I feel really bad as I'm having the day off because of number two troubles. Very constipated and so uncomfortable! I've tried everything. I'm actually on the verge of tears. It's the kind of constipation where you feel it there but won't come out. Sorry tmi. It's even making me feel sick. Baby is booting me which is always a good thing but isn't helping with my troubles.

Am I wrong for having a day off because of this? Seriously, so uncomfortable. It's a struggle to sit up right. And my job involves me sat ata desk all day. :-(

I had a very unpleasant episode like this a few weeks back. It happened at weekend for me but I know I couldn't have worked until I passed whatever was causing the problem. I tried several times to go but just couldn't. Big TMI, it was massive. I was on the pint of contactinga MW for advice. Luckily I managed to pass it (it was a mini birthing experience). After that I got my hands on some lactulose which didn't agree with me but does works. Since then I've been having a glass of prune juice a day which has help greatly.

Basically because your digestive system is moving slower (due to increased progesterone) then you may not go to the loo as regularly. If its been a few days then your poop can get really big and hard and impacted making it difficult for you to pass. If you are having problems passing it you may need to call a MW for advice. Worse case scenario they can give you a suppository to help things.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one having toilet problems. :(
I feel so uncomfy from not being able to go and now have a sore bottom :(
I've had it since Friday where i just managed a pass a little but know there is more because i'm uncomfortable... x

I really can't recommend prune juice enough. Just 150-200ml a day made toilet time a lot more bearable.

I drank half a pint of the stuff last night. No effect yet. How quickly does it work?xx

If your in pain hun then having a day off is not a bad thing.
As NK has recommended prune juice is good also lots of green veg, orange juice can help, tomatoes, and brown bread/pasta. Those are the things we tell our patients to avoid when they have diarrhoea so eating them should help, but I've been the complete opposite (weird I know!) all the way through so I'm not speaking from experience. x x x

It can take a while for things to get moving unfortunately! If you are in a lot of discomfort I would give the mw a call as you may need something to get you going (sorry that sounds awful!) x

Hope this eases up hun. Sounds really uncomfortable. I don't blame you for taking a day off. I've been lucky so far and not had constipation (the opposite if anything), but once ages ago, I couldn't go and it was there but too big to pass (tmi), so I really feel for you. It wasn't nice at all.

xx

Yep deffo call the MW if it's not budging. Sorry for the TMI but you might need help getting rid of impacted stuff before normal service can resume. Prune juice keeps it flowing as it were (sorry) once you've got rid of the blockage.

This is the WORST time for number 2 problems :( All I eat now is veggies, fruit and bran, and I am still constipated!

:(
Pregnancy seems such a joyful experience with either constipation or the runs
My toiletry habits seem to have now resulted back to normal:blush:

The prune juice won't do anything for what's 'stuck' up there at the moment, needs to be taken as a preventative measure, a small wine glassful a day or even every other day. Another good thing is weetabix or dates/raisins.

You might benefit from suppositories or something. But as gross as it sounds if it comes out naturally try not to strain cos you will tear or give yourself piles.

Get some lactulose too - I have used it on and off for the last few months when I get blocked up  Also just drinking lots of water. Being pregnant uses up lots of water which leaves less in your bowels to keep your number 2's moving. I usually find when I get blocked it's because I haven't drank as much over the last couple of days or so
It's horrible and stressy so I hope you get sorted :hugs:

All services have resumed. Lol. A relief. Think I'll increase water intake and try a small glass of prune juice each morning. My diet isn't the best though so could prob improve that too.xx

Oh god hun its the worst pain ever i couldnt stop crying i didnt go loo for 10 days and my stomach felt so bad i went doctors and they gave me lactalose and senna tablets which worked a treat. X

Phew! That must be a relief quite literally :). Deffo get some water, fibre and prune juice down you daily. It makes life a lot more comfortable.
