Me too! At the end of the day were all human being no matter what the colour of our skin what clothes we wear or what music we listen too!

Emo is 'emotional hardcore' ie shouty metal/rock but with singing in places too! like most nu-metal. Its asically people who are into nu-metal as opossed to old school metal like Slayer and Metallica etc.

I find mucisal labeling usefull, for people who are heavily into a music scene such as myself. Its good at pinpointing peoples exact musical prefrences, when you talk alot aout music and go to a lot of gigs its ood to know what other people are into, its not aout judging them its just a case of if someone who was a 'townie' asked me what music I was into I would reply metal and rock. However if someone into alternative music were to ask me what I liked I would define it more as being industrial/goth/nu metal/old school/grunge/old school/punk/black metal/death metal/thrash etc. That way you would have a clearer indictation of the bands that person is into.

I totally agree. I think the girls mean more when people are labelled as people for what they wear for instance. rather than when music types are labelled if you know what i mean :).

And xena you're very welcome, i found you're explanation of chav quite amusing and thought i was reading a post of my own for a second :D

Yes I was on about how people dress...

a "chav" could be wearing trackies and acting like a complete fool, getting p*ssed up on street corners, shouting abuse etc...but I could just be nipping to the shops in trackies or something and be labelled a chav?

If i'm not mistaken trackies were usually ment for sporty people but have now been associated with "chavs"...Most of these "chavs" couldn't run up the stairs or kick a football without passing out because they are that f****d out of their faces.

I sometimes wear trackies, trainers, I have gold jewellry (not over the top) and feel comfy in a hoody sometimes but I wouldn't say I was a chav...I say whatever you feel comfy in, but I do reckon these people get branded on how they act, and the clothes get steriotyped for it :(

I had these and thought them fitting for this thread lol:

Me too, 'six underground' is an anthem! But I'm old enough to get excited that I might still fit into any category other than 'plump 30's mum!' :(
