weve been trying for 6 months now and im really worried that we arnt "doing it right". I was wondering if some one could help me with my check list?

. Yoghurt is good?
. sex is good?
. green veg is good?
. pregnancy vits are good?
. Keeping the little guys in for a while is good?
. No sex is bad?

Is there anything else i could try or stop doing?

hiya, are you using OPKs? Or do you have a very regular cycle? The best time to BD is in the few days leading up to OV and the day of OV itself. Then the little swimmers can have a chance to swim up your tubes and be ready for the egg when it is released.
Apparently, if you manage to BD at those times in a cycle, a healthy couple still only has a 30% chance of conception. So nothing is guaranteed unfortunately.

Hello Jenna,

Are you checking your temperatures to see when you ovulate or using OPK's?

I am in the exact boat except its now almost 16 months I have been trying for.

Make sure you both are taking multi vitamins, esp zinc for your partner, and of course folic acid for you

Try the magic medicin raved about on this site.

Lots of sex not jsut in ur ovalation period!!!! I know some of my mates and read some ppls stories on here where they assumed they were ovalating around day14, but were actually ovalating day 7 a day after their period had finished!

I now TTC every 2nd day! I have had 3 different doctors as iv moved surgerys and house and all 3 have said not to use BBT as they are unreliable and cause stress. So i have never tried it, i am about to start using ovalation tests tho.

Afew things to avoid.

For your partner

Hot Baths,
Seatbelts eg 3 point harnesses! (My partner races and this was one thing restricting his swimmers!)
Laptop computers! (Get him to put the laptop on a pillow!)

If i think of anymore il let you know but just chill and take your time, iv been to doctors to get checked out and everything is fine, but my doctor did say that once they do all the standard tests all doctors refer you to a fertility clinic, where more than likely regardless ul be labelled as being infertile which is shocking but being labelled with this doesnt mean you are.

Surveys show it takes at least a year for a healthy couple anyway

i have been using ovulation tests but have some how missed it for the last 2 months!

I had a chat with my mum about my health and stuff like that because i was ill when iwas born and they couldnt tell if i was a girl or boy stright away :| and my mum said i was fine then said "you will be happy anyway with craig, thats the most important thing". Which makes me feel like i have something to worry about, she lied to me about her having a miscarriage and about some pictures of me when i was a baby. If anything shes made me feel worse.

Hi Jenna, when you use your OPKs, do you always do them at the smae time of day? And what time is that? Apparently you're supposed to use them between 10am and 8pm, not first thing in the morning. Also make sure you haven't drunk too much before you do it, otherwise you'll dilute the LH. I always do mine at 6pm every day. When I got my positives, I went to doing them twice a day, so that I knew exactly when my peak began and ended. If you have a look at my "I'm Ovulating!!" thread (it'll be here somewhere!), there's a link to a picture of all my OPKs this month. Do any of yours look similar?
Do you get ovulation pains?
Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get a better picture.

i do them at about 5pm after work. I dont get pains, and i only do one a day. I do them like it says on the leaflets, once a day from the 11th or something cycle day till you get a positive, iv only got one the other times i did it i missed it, got a faint line then no line then a faint line again.

Sorry AF came

I would really consider temping as well as OPKs- it may be you are O really early or late and are missing it with your OPKs.

Hope you get BFP soon x

Jenna, I had a positive OPK last month at 10am and when I did a second one that day in the afternoon it was negative. Perhaps you serge in the morning like me.

Jenna i found it helped charting my temp as i ovulated later than i thought in the cycle.

Would you consider trying it?

yeah, my surge only lasted 6hrs, good job I was testing twice a day at that point, so I caught it. xxx
