Hi guys my lil miss has just started sleeping through the night, after three nights of 9hrs (approx 10pm-7am), she then has had two nights of 8.30pm-3am, then 4am to 9.30am, whilst I am pleased she is going longer she usually doesn't sleep this long...ever since about 6am she has woken to cry every hr but then just whimpered but not opening her eyes, 2mins later she is asleep again...would you say she needs the sleep more than the milk and this is why she drifts off or is it a case of she sees no milk is forthcoming and decides to sleep out of boredom?

Not sure whether to wake her for feed but she could be going through a development phase and I'm a big believer in don't wake a sleeping baby and this past week have only picked her up when we get full blown eyes wide open crying but she hasn't done this yet...should I leave her?

Leave her and enjoy :-)

At least, that's what I would do, as I too am a believer in letting a baby sleep.

HI rooster, it just seems very strange and unlike her, she seems so unhappy one minute then the next peacefully sleeping...feel like a bad mum but she only cries for about a minute so its not like she's crying 10mins or more...I guess she is probably developing something or simply having one really bad nightmare lol...I have had the chance to gets loads done though lol but last night took her ages to settle and don't think she slept properly til gone 11pm so perhaps its catch up from that...after doing 9.30pm til 5am with her in nursery (managing about 4hrs sleep total in chunks and doing one feed) I had to have two hrs myself in another room cos was shattered lol...its the first night staying with her from the start as I usually sleep til 1am and then take over by which time the hard work has been done lol....

we have visitors in about 10mins and was hoping to have her nappy changed and fed by their arrival but guessing she will dictate when sh is ready to wake lol...

I'm fairly sure that this is the age they can start having nightmares but don't quote me on that. Anyways, I would make the most of it - babies will always make it clear when they're hungry, especially at 9 weeks old. If she's mot asking, she's probably not hungry :)

well she eventually woke at 10.30 but has been back to have a short nap...

If you're really worried you can try a dream feed - that is feeding her in her sleep at a time she's had a feed previously.

hi kumber, I used to do this and thought she needed them as she always took a bottle but was making a rod for my own back as was feeding every 2hrs during the night whereas hubby wasn't through his 6hr stint then realised why, wait until open eyes crying commences, ignore all other sounds...she has gone back down for a nap after hr and 40mins which included nappy, feed, playmat time, tummy time, babble time with guests then shoulder time with mummy, she then went straight done for sleep and is still dozing now...2hrs on...bless her, she is also still doing the cry closed eyes, sleep, cry, sleep pattern lol...

Hi guys so yesterday all in all she was awake twice total 2hrs so obviously a badnight 2as likely. ?.she seemed to settle well bt madenoises every 20-30mins so that from 10pm til 2am I cudnt get2sleep so decided 4o stay awake she then kept getting out of her swaddle n waking herself up so by 2am she was desperate for more milk - hardly surprising when she only took 700ml yesterday in 6 feeds (generally takes 800-1000ml in 11 feeds)...settled her again, hr later wide awake babbling away...eventually give up n she sleeps in my hrs for 1hr then another 2hrs finally in crib...by 6am ive managed 2hrs sleep but been in bed since 10pm sigh...get brekkie fathers day gifts etc, playmat time then she has an explosive nappy lol (36hrs backup) falls asleep on hubby so settle her again n I go fir 2hr uninterrupted nap. Only just woken to discover she had a bout of crying for 15mins an hr ago n wudnt b consoled...napping now tho

Cud this b a development leap or simply she cudnt sleep due to bm n then was cranky for hubby cos he doesnt usually tend to her, confusion mayb?
