I am a bit worried as I read that an 8 month old baby should only be sleeping 14 hours a day but Daniel seems to be sleeping much more. He naps from about 9:00 - 10:30, then from 12:30 - 1:30 and then again from 3:30 - 4:30, sometimes more. We put him down at about 6:30 and he sleeps right through for 12 hours ( as far as we know ). Please let me know what you think...

Id count yourself lucky!!

A friends baby (17 months) sleeps 12hours at night, two hour nap in the morning, two hour nap in the afternoon, then a doze for 30mins - 1hour in the evening.

Some babys sleep more than others... I wouldnt worry unless shes lathargic all the time, or looks dazed.

Sounds ideal! My one yr old has a nap about 10-11am, sometimes 2-3 and then bed between 8 or 9pm. If she misses her afternoon nap she will fall asleep early evening, it's then a nightmare to get her to bed.

I put Grace to bed at around 5:30pm and she usually sleeps through for 12 hours!
After lunch, she has a nap from 12:30 - 2:00pm depending on if we're in or not.

If she's groggy, she'll have a mini-nap in the morning, usually around 9:00am, until about 10:30 or so.

I like it that way, her naps are spaced out and she's not too restless at night.
