6 weeks pregnant twins one fetal heart rate

Hi everyone

I had an early pregnancy scan today. Im pregnant after having a miscarriage only last month. . I had a transvaginal unltrasound which has detected two sacs one fetal pole can clearly be seen measuring 6wks 1day with HB but the other sac was harder to get a clear view of what was happening. Have been told to come back in 10 days. I dont know what to think. Has anyone had any similar experiences.

6 weeks is very early to be able to see anything, even for 1 pregnancy, so I'd say try not to worry at the moment - its amazing how much things grow in such a short space of time. Take the heartbeat as reassurance and I'm sure in 10 days you'll see much more! X

Yes I know you are so right 6 weeks is very early I wouldnt have went for the scan so early only I needed to confirm my dates and new pregnancy. I didnt expect that kind of news.

I just hate the thought of losing another baby so soon as twin pregnancies are higher risk but im worrying over something that hasnt happened.

The hospital scan is next saturday but Ive booked a private one for this Tuesday which will be 6 days of a difference from the last scan. Ill just keeping myself occupied until then.

Oh I understand. I had a previous missed miscarriage and when I finally got pregnant again I was so anxious. You were so lucky to fall so quickly! Just focus on the heartbeat you saw until the next scan. You'll still worry but just try to think about that when you get anxious. I'm sure you'll be able to see more with a 6 day gap best of luck keep us up to date x

Im really sorry to hear that you had a mmc. My first pregnancy ended in a mmc we found out at the dating scan. Its so cruel because youre not prepared for it.

I went on to have a successful pregnancy after it. My little girl is 20 months now. The mmc made me very anxious being pregnant too but the wee movements at around 19 or 20 weeks gave me reassurance.

I lost the last baby just before 6 weeks at the start of march but I wasnt anxious because I had a successful pregnancy before it and didnt think I had any need to worry. So I didnt see it coming.

So this time we hadnt meant to fall pregnant so soon so that was a shock too not to mention the scan showing 2 sacs! Lol.

How are you keeping now?

Oh that's so tough, I dont think you can ever be prepared for how traumatic it is. Ours was at our dating scan too, that was a year ago in february, and we got our bfp on the 3rd of february this year. Took us a full year! It's funny how life works isn't it. I'm ok I'm 15 weeks now so I've seen my little bub on the scan now I'm just waiting for some movements and the 20 week scan I'm sure your next update will be positive xx

Congratulations! It wont be long until you are feeling wee movements. I think once you are over the 12 weeks thats half the battle!

Its so nice to talk to someone who understands how you are feeling miscarriage isnt a big thing until youve had one yourself.

Just a wee update on todays scan -

Everything went well. We found two heartbeats baby 1 is now measuring exactly 7 weeks and baby 2 is 6 weeks and 5days which im told is normal.

The best news I could hope for just taking a wee while to sink in now.

Aww one of each thats so lovely Im hoping to find out the genders too so I can get prepared I plan to not leave the house for the first few months after they arrive.

My sickness hasnt been too bad just a bit of nausea now and again and im not as tired as I was in the first few weeks.

How are you keeping?

Would like to stay in touch and follow your journey too. Maybe you can give me some tips. I could hardly sleep last night wondering how I was going to manage night feeds.
