6 and 7 year old killed on motorway

My sister and neice used to live on that road, its a pretty rough area. I agree, they are too young to be out but its not unusual for the area (kids as young as 3 wander round the road in front of cars)
My sister got out as fast as she could!

i agree i live in a quiet area but my son is 5 and i dont allow him outside the front door, or front door is always locked. Those poor lads.

I used to live next to a really busy dual carriageway in central london and there used to these kids that must hav been between the ages 8 and 11 and they used to run back and forth accross the lanes!
i mean the limit was 40 but people did 60 or 70 along there and they made it a game to run in front of the cars and see if they could brake in time!
and the worst bit is there mums used to be standin there havin a chat in the street while there kids were runnin in and out of the road!

a 5 year old shouldnt have even been out on his own... never mind near a motorway!!

my heart goes out to the famillies but I feel sorry for the drivers of the cars, it's all well and the father saying his son didnt know the area very well but what child of that age would and saying there should be danger signs up????? what 6 and 7 year old would take any notice of a danger sign?????

Kids that age shouldnt be allowed out on there own, what were there parents thinking!!!!. I do feel sorry for the driver never in a million years would you expect to see kids that age on a motorway.

The 7 year old is a relative of ours and I just wanted to say its didn't happen like the news made out. They were expected back in at 5pm and when they couldn't be found they were repoted missing. The boys were lost and shouldn't have ended up any where the motor way.

it must be dreadful- not just for the parents but for the drivers :(
i was doing 80mph on a dual carriageway about 18 months ago and 2 girls ran across infront- i had to brake and swerve. i was shaking like a leaf when i got home and had to hav a BIG gin & cherryade- in a pint glass. cant imagine hitting a child how could u get over it
