my friend called me yesterday to let me know his partner had given birth to a beautiful baby girl....after 45 hours labour!!!!

i was like, thats great pete.....but why did you have to tell me about the labour part! lol

i might rethink my gas and air strategy if my labour goes on for 2 days!!

eek!

congrats to your friend though :)

My mum was in labour with me for 3 days...she went into hospital with contractions every 5 mins on Saturday morning and I was finally born at Tuesday teatime!

I so didn't wanna come out! She ended up on a drip and was kept in for a week cos I'd really taken it out of her :rotfl:

I just hope my baby doesn't take after me

i went to hospital with contractions every 4 mins at 10am tuirsday morning and kie was born at 10.20pm friday night

awww thats not a long labour lmao mine was 5 days with alana, but spent nearly 4 days at home relaxing

im still planning on a stork bringing mine

don't panic! the average for a first baby is 12 hours  I was about 14 hours with James

I tell you, there is no way anyone is getting to stick a needle in my spine!!!

:shakehead:

Oh my god, i could never imagine that. my first was 4 hours, 45 mins pushing her out and the second lasted longer because my waters wouldn't break, as soon as the midwife broke them it took 15 mins to go from 4-10cm dialated and her being born!!!

I wonder if I will be so lucky third time round????

Having had them twice, I can definitely recommend an epidural. After even a few hours of very strong cotractions you'll be begging for one...................or maybe I had a low pain threshold??

my first labour was 45 hours but then my second 45 minutes - was very pleased to have a civilised 4 hours with number 3 - wonder what number 4 will be like??
