hiya, so this is my second pregnancy and I am already sooo bloated probably lots of gas yuck and my work trousers are already tight even though I lost some weight. I don't want to wear maternity trousers as they make you look more pregnant and I can't risk people guessing at work. What did you wear in the early days before 12-13 weeks? I need something stretchy but also smart looking. Dresses make me look even more pregnant so any ideas about trousers and makes?

i just wore maternity leggings for my own comfort

i also told my employers early due to my previous MC history as i would need the support if anythign went wrong, i hid my belly using floaty scarves or loose tops

hi netty how many weeks were you pregnant when you told them? I am thinking of telling my manager as I am am getting sick a lot and will be taking time off for appointments. My manager is also very nice and I don't mind sharing it with him but noone else really.

i told them pretty much straight away, because I had a scan at 6 weeks and then at 8 and i knew i would need the time off x

ok, I am having a scan at 7 weeks but I still don't feel comfortable telling some of the people here as I know for a fact they talk behind people especially pregnant women (terrible I know). I am also going to have this genetic DNA testing for down syndrome at 11 weeks so I will try to wait till than, but my bump might say otherwise as it's sooo bloated already and I am sure they will start guessing soon

i would just tell your boss or HR department, they are under a legal obligation to keep your information personal to you and disclosing your pregnancy also protects your employer using any ansence that is pregnnacy related against you for warnings etc

I'm still wearing all my normal clothes as I'm barely showing at all but I'm just not buttoning my jeans now and wearing a top that's long enough to cover. Would that help? Unless it's late in the day when things are a bit more obvious, no one would guess. Also some clothes are just more flattering than others. I've found a few things I haven't worn in ages that may get a new lease of life over the next few weeks. Or could you just get some regular trousers a size bigger? I already wear very unflattering work uniforms but in a good way so I'm hoping to stay out of maternity ones for a while yet.

I also had to tell work early like as soon as I found out early because I needed a lot of adjustments even that early. With the adjustments, I couldn't get away with just telling my manager as it was just too obvious but it meant I was well supported by the rest of the team. I understand you not wanting to but it does make life so much easier for arranging appointments or if you need time off.

The bloating will go away before you actually start looking pregnant. I looked 12 weeks pregnant at 4 weeks lol. The bloat went down a lot at 5 weeks(ish). Just wear what you want! No one will ask if you're pregnant, they'll probably assume you've just put on weight or had a big lunch. If it's really bothering you, layers, scarves, peplum shirts and a-line skirts all work well to hide a belly.

I'm 20 weeks and still suffer with bloat making my belly grow through the day

Early on when jeans were uncomfy, I did like moomin and wore long top over unbuttoned jeans, but I did feel a bit silly. Also once I actually invested in maternity trousers, I wished I'd done it sooner. So much more comfy. If you wear long loose tops over, then people wont notice they're maternity ones. I still have people who are surprised that I'm pg unless I wear a tight fitting top.
