Hi guys for the past few days our lil miss has developed a good routine of 12hrs sleep at night, 3 naps of 1-2hrs and feeding every 3-3.5hrs which I was so pleased with. It takes her a while to extend her naps waking after 30-45mins and then taking 10-20mins to get to sleep again but all of a sudden this has stopped, for the past three naps she hasn't been able to extend them or if she does its for like 10-15mins, also night before last she woke at 9.30pm screaming and feeding was only thing that comforted her (she'd had feed at 6.30 for the night and usually goes 7-10hrs on that), then also took her usual 2/3am MOTN feed, last night she was fine at 9.30 but woke up babbling away fpor 20mins at 11.30pm, then woke as usual for her MOTN feed again. Waking and babbling as if the day is about to start is unlike her unless its 5/6am in the morning...Thing is we've made such progress at getting onto a 3hr feeding schedule that with her naps shortening will suffer as she won't be able to go as long...She is also close to mastering rolling over, has been teething for past week (worst day two days ago, better since) and has been in the stroller for the first time as opposed to carseat so front facing which is new to her...it could be any number of these things but wondered if anyone else noticed similarities with their LO's and if they discovered if it was related to sleep regression?

They tend to say that when babies are mastering a new skill it can affect their sleep as all their brains are all about that (or something along those lines)
Teething definitely makes them wake up in the middle of the night but I usually find Caleb is quite upset if it's teething rather than the babbling.

Caleb did what you're describing around 4 months but far more frequently he was up every 90 minutes at one point, I would BF him to sleep (anything for sleep at that point!) and an hour or so later he was back up. Lasted a week or so and was absolutely horrific but then he sorted himself out and suddenly went back to doing longer stretches.

Easier said than done but I'd say not to stress too much, for 4 months old to be in that settled a routine already seems fairly impressive to me. Also Caleb went through a phase of really short daytime naps like one sleep cycle and then he couldn't self soothe. I didn't do anything differently to what I always do when I put him down for naps and he now sometimes has 45 minutes and sometime has 2.5 hours, I let him have what he needs. If he wakes up after 30/40 minutes and doesn't nod back off I get him up and then try and put him back down for a nap an hour later and more often than not that works.

Frustrating but I'd say just ride it out and I'm sure she'll work through whatever's going on and get back to being your fab sleeper!

Thanks she caught up on her sleep later on taking 1hr 30mins sleep in 2hr time slot so not too bad, she is really good I cant complain really but last night she was quiet aside from wanting fed at 2 and 5am, didnt mind though cos today was jabs day and thought if she's full she's happy and she was...
