You may remember me banging on about the accuracy of day21/7dpo bloods and the fact that my doc was adament on day21 being correct :wall2:

Anyways I went on day 21 which turned out to be 3dpo with the idea that when the results came in and I spoke to my gp she would see the error of her ways!!

SO this morning phoned up for results as cant get an appointment to see her for another week and spoke to another gp who confirmed it was supposed to be on 7dpo - GGRRRRRRR!! - so she said just to reschedule on actual 7dpo next cycle - finally getting somewhere!!

Then she told me that thyroid kidney liver etc were all normal and said I wasnt going through the menopause (!) which at 28 im glad to hear!! She said my hormone level was 25. I assums this is the progesterone level? Sooo is 25 ok for 3dpo, I mean I dont know how it works, is it at its highest at ovulation then declines or does it start rising at ovulation hitting a peak half way through your leutal phase???

Any help is most appreciated, thanks ladies.........

anyone please.....

picked up results from gp:

This is cycle day 21 but only 3DPO:

FSH 1.7 U/L
LH 1.5 U/L
Progesterone 25.6 nmol/L
Testosterone 1.1 nmol/L

Hi Hun,

I really wouldn't worry to much about your progesterone, anything above 30 is good at it's peak so 25 at 3dpo before the peak is only going to be much better at the peak, I once did mine the wrong day and got a 0 nmol/L!

Hope that helps! :)

xx

hey, .... so the progesterone starts low at ovulation then goes up like a bell curve until it drops of for AF, get it now, thanks :)

on my test results for the fsh and lh came up highlighted bold which means "out of reference range" but i'm trying not to panic as the other GP i got my results from (who actualy knows not all women ov on day14!!) said I need a re-draw on 7dpo so will book in for it this cycle. Thank god I'm charting and actually learning about all this from you fab ladies or I would be humped!!

What CD did you have the LH and FSH??

The ranges are as follows-

LH

Follicular Phase 1-13 U/L
Mid cycle peak 12-82 U/L
Luteal Phase 1-13 U/L
Post Menopausal 14-48 U/L

FSH

Follicular Phase <11 U/L
Mid cycle peak 7-20 U/L
Luteal Phase 3-10 U/L
Post Menopausal 35-140 U/L

Hope this helps too! :)

hey

lh and fsh were done on cd 21/3 dpo as well. according to your notes - mine seem a little low esp the fsh.

Hi Hun,

I think your FSH is ok for your Luteal phase, you definitely need to repeat the LH and FSH on CD3, that's the correct day for those bloods, don't take no for an answer your doc isn't well informed!

xx

Hi hun I had my day 21's done yesterday and then.I flaming well came on today a week early, so I'm worried about the results now obviously they won't be accurate now :( sigh....
Goodluck with your tests x

thanks maybe - will ask for repeat of progesterone on 7dpo and fsh and lh on cd3 next month - thats right eh?

daisy -just bloody typical isnt it! hope you get them done and everything is ok

Daisy, once I had a CD21 and went on CD22 to get my results fully expecting a bad result as AF came that morning and I got a good result- weird!

Good luck Hun!:)

xx

Hiya MB, got the results today they were 3.3 the Dr rang to say that suggests I didn't ovulate this month and that it could be the start of things becoming irregular :/ also still not had DH's results back yet its 3 weeks tomorrow anyway looking forward to 15th Dec xx how r u getting on hun? X

Hi Daisy, :)

I would definitely repeat your CD 21s again, how long was your cycle and how long are they usually?

You can get a more accurate result if you are irregular by repeating the test 3 times on different days after OV.

If you're cycles are normal you probably are OVing, you could request an ultrasound.

On the other hand it might be best to get a bad result on file as it might be your ticket to a referral.

xx
