I have an appointment with my midwife and Consultant on Tuesday when I will be 34+1.
Just wondering if I will get a date for our elective section then. We decided to opt for elective section from the very beginning which they were more than happy with.
Just want a definite date so we can get things organised regarding childcare for my little boy.

Also interested to know if anyone has been given a date for a section then went into labour naturally before the section as I keep having dreams that I deliver my little girl at 38 weeks!!!

Hi Michelle!

I just had my 34 week appt yesterday, it wasn't a long one , I had hyped myself up thinking it would be!

My little one is breech and I asked her re sections and she said that where I am ( Leeds) they don't give out dates until 36 weeks regardless of reason why as lots could change with baby and reasons prior..

I know other areas are different as friend of mine having elective got dates ages ago!!

Mine was a normal check up, really quick and a come bk in 2 weeks! X

I'll be pushing for a section if she hasn't turned at 38 weeks.... She's fine size wise now as catching up and the pain from her head is unbearable the thought of even 1 or 2 extra weeks makes me want to cry xxx

I have a consultants appointment on Wednesday , I will be 34 + 2 , I received a letter yesterday morning which was a letter based on what was said at my last appointment with the consultants and it states they will discuss a delivery date with me on Wednesday due to the baby been over the 90th centile (measuring 5lbs 5ozs at 31 weeks) and me having type 2 diabetes , im based at the Royal Stoke University Hospital in Stoke On Trent , The baby is currently breech and i was offered an ecv but refused so if she doesn't turn is will be a c section x

We are having a section regardless of position of baby so hopefully they give us a date on Tuesday. I know every area is different so we will just have to wait and see what they say

I got my section date at my 28 weeks. Just asked for one and was given it. X

I'm getting my section at 39 +5 on 25th. Was supposed to be 39 weeks but that's a Saturday and electives don't get done at weekends. Then my little girls birthday is 21st July so asked if it could be after that which was fine. But I've had a lot of reduced movement and getting my fluid levels checked tomorrow as they have been low so it's possible could be brought forward to this week xx

aww hopefully you get some good news tomorrow huni.
My little boys section was brought forward due to reduced movements and low fluids, our little babies certainly like to keep us on our tomes don't they.

Yip the do indeed! It's a boy I'm having this time so must be a boy thing! Lol xx

I think they will def give you a date at your appointment michelle, as its a section regardless of position your not waiting on anything else to decide. Ive had mine since 18 weeks but I haven't got attached to that date yet in my head or thought about childcare other than hubby as I had bleeding at 36 weeks last time and everything changed. Prob wont happen this time but still makes me more like a normal birth in my head that actually it could be any date near the end so I 'm just ignoring my date :)

Really hope they give you it for peace of mind , but again if yours changed too last time you might feel the same as me this time? But at least they can book your preops too. Do they know how your fluids are this time?

Best bloody hospital ever they are. We got transferred there on blue lights from our local hospital nearly an hour away and their children's wards are just fantastic! I owe my sons health to them after his op etc :)

JJMum when I was scanned at 32 weeks my fluid levels were 14 so they were fine. When I was carrying my son I slowly leaked fluid and didn't even know. With him my levels dropped to 4 at 37 weeks and they delivered him the following week.
