Hi all

It's my second pregnancy and i've just been measured for the first time today. I'm 27+5 but measuring big at around 29 weeks. The midwife didn't seem worried as everything else seems fine.

My last baby was perfectly in the middle of the 'two lines' on the chart all the way through pregnancy so i'm a bit worried. He was born at 7lb4oz

What can contribute to me having a bigger baby this time, if that is what it is? Midwife told me not to worry but I can't help it :eh:

Hi, you're basically only 1 week over, which might be an extra 0.5lbs.....BUT, scan weights are such complete guesses they can be 1lb out either way! plus you have ages to go where growth can be faster at some points and slower at others. I wouldnt take any notice of it! My boy was on the 50th percentile too and he was 8lb 3 so more than a pound heavier than your 'perfectly in the middle' ....

plus this pregnancy ay 28 weeks was 10th percentile, at 30 weeks below 5th, and at 32 and 34 weeks between 25th and 50th percentile.....allegedly!! its all guesswork

As long as it's not over or under 2cm each side I wouldn't worry too much.

They allow 2 cm each way. At 28 weeks I was measuring 27 cm . I really wouldn't worry about it you are within the range .

at my last appointment i was 4cm under by fundal height and scans showed baby is perfectly average size

Was the measurement based on fundamental height, or a scan?

second babies are usually slightly bigger. I was the other way last pregnancy, measured 3cm small but declined a scan, midwife just said she thought id have a smallish baby. she was 8lb 2oz. I really wouldn't worry
