  • wots the earliest u get a bump i no every ones different
  • if i had a scan now what would i see ive got the midwife next week and they said they would get me in for an early scan because im diabetic so would it be pointless
  • what foods should you avoid
  • when would you start buying things for the baby
comments welcome thanks

- I felt sick a few days before my 6th week and then the sickness just appeared and I didnt go away for a long time lol!

- I got my proper bump that I cant hide with any item of clothing at 27 weeks. until then I just looked fat or bloated!

- at 5 weeks I had a scan and all they could see was a tiny tiny blob like shape.

- I didnt buy anything till 20 weeks when the chance of miscarriage is reduced.

I was lucky and never got any sickness, just exhaustion.

Had an obvious bump at about 16-17 weeks

I had an early scan at 8 weeks. Saw a kidney bean shaped little baby and also heard the heartbeat. Many dont see anything before 6 weeks.

I bought a few bits from when I was about 10 weeks - entirely up to u when u feel comfortable.

Foods to avoid, off the top of my head, are anything with raw eggs. Shop bought mayo is fine but not deli made. Swordfish. Some soft cheeses altho cream cheese like Philadelphia is fine. Ur prob best lookin online for a list or one of the other girls cud be able to tell u. Most what was on the list I dont eat anyway so they havent stuck in my head.

1. My sickness stared the day before i was 6 weeks - but mostly it was just nausea - i was only actually sick twice!!

2. Absoltely know idea with this one - i fell pregnant in dec last year, (had MC) - but was asked when i was 7weeks if i was pregnant, where as this time it def wasnt noticable that early.

3. earliest you can see anything on a scan is 6 weeks - and even then i think its just the sac.

4. it changes quite often lol - runny eggs, pate, unpasturiesed cheese, cured meats like salami (unless cooked like on a pizza) - at ur booking appointment u should get a book with the up to date info on this. to be honest most people lapse slightly.

5. Depends on how superstitous you are, and what ur finances are like. Most people seem to wait till the 12 weeks, cos thats when ur highest risk of MC - put if ur looking to spread the cost out - or get the chance of a good bargain - no reason you cant start right away.

xxx

I didn't get any sickness. A little nausea but nothing more (only tiredness)
I didn't get a bump until about 22 weeks, even then I could hide it (now it's massive though)
I had an early scan at 6+3 and could just see a little heartbeat but not much more (a heartbeat is all you really want to see at that stage)
I didn't buy anything until about 25 weeks.

Hope that helps x

Everyone's different hun things can happen at different times for everyone, for me -

Sickness - I started to get around 6-7 weeks and had it all day not just in a morning but thankfully stopped around 14 weeks.

Bump - I started to get a bit of a bulge around 16 weeks, although friends and family would have been able to tell that obviously I was bigger. I'd say strangers wouldn't be able to tell I was pregnant.

Scan - I'm not sure as I never had an early scan, I'm sure they'd be able to pick up at least a sac though.

Foods - I'd say the main ones are shellfish and blue cheeses.

Buying - Whenever you want to really, some people like to start as soon as possible so as to split the cost. A lot of people like to get the first trimester out the of the way first though as the first 12 weeks can be the most riskiest.

But as I say everyone's different so do whats right for you.

Also just noticed your from the West Mids :) me too! Congratulations on your pregnancy x x

I have only had a little sickness, from about 6 weeks but it's gone now :)

I would say I have a small bump which I can hide with baggy clothes but if I wear something fitted you can definitely tell I'm pregnant as it is very round!

You should avoid runny yolk, pâté, Parma ham, soft cheese such as Brie or blue cheese. They also say you should limit your intake of tuna to once a week.

Are you taking folic acid?

I'm not buying until 12 weeks just because then we are in the 'safe' period x x

1. My sickness began at about week 6-7 and didn't stop til around week 13-14.

2. A noticable bump out of clothing was about 20 weeks. Before that it was easy to hide under jumpers and tops.

3. I'm not sure what they'd see in a scan as early as that. I had my very first at 9 weeks and the baby was just a very tiny version of what it is now, with a beating heart and less obvious facial features.

4. There's lots of guidelines you're meant to follow on what to eat and what not to eat. At first it confused me and I used to worry in case I ate something I wasn't allowed. But now I'm used to it and generally remember the do's and don'ts. Stay away from unpasturised milk, soft cheese, raw eggs (or eggs not fully cooked) and soft scoop ice cream

5. I think I bought my very first item at about 12 weeks, but only the odd thing. Then properly started after my 20 week scan :)

My sickness never really started this time, had waves now and again from about 5 weeks plus.

Bump was 24 weeks plus before it was noticeable as I was small in bump department lol.

This time had early scan like you diabetic, was at 8 weeks + 2, (dated me 7 weeks 6 days) I saw kidney bean shape and heartbeat nothing much as it wasn't very clear.

Didn't buy much till after my 20 week scan as I wanted to know what sex baby was and to wait till I knew everything was ok x

Sickness started about 6 weeks and still got it, more like a hangover feel sick, headaches and tired.
Still no sign of bump but people say 16-28 weeks. everyone is diffrent.
no idea about early scan didnt have one.
yep no raw or runny egg, no deli meats, no soft cheese, and watch tuna intake, and mercury high fish.
heard peanuts are a no no as well.
as for buying things i can talk, about 10 weeks i brought my iCandy pram 2nd hand off ebay for a bargin.
but thats it, gonna start buying bits soon... gonna wait to buy big stuff in jan sale.

Sickness started for me at about 6/7 weeks.
Bump showed at 18weeks(ish)
I had early scan 6 weeks and showed a beating blob about the size of a grain of rice.
I started buying after 12 week scan (I was 13 weeks)

Regarding foods... Peanuts are ok so long as you or close family don't have history of nut allergies. Runny eggs are ok too so long as they have the red stamp on them. This means the hens have been vaccinated against salmonella. I chose not to eat runny eggs As a precaution but nuts I've been eating the bag full! Soft or blue cheeses are a no go I.e. Stilton and Brie. Cottage cheese is fine though. Cured meats like palma ham are a no go. But cooked meats are fine I.e. ham. Cheese cakes or any sauces made with raw eggs are a no go. Mcflurries and milkshakes from fast food restaurants are a no go because of the way the ice cream is stored in the machine.

But everyone is different.xx

Yeh I know. My midwife told me. :( Hubby got one the other night. I was so jealous! Have told him to fill the fridge up with all the goodies i love but cant have due to pregnancy after I've had baby. LOL.x

its to do with the fact mcflurries and that are not made out of real ice cream its a liquid thing that comes in a carton. I saw KFC had one on the deck I poked my nose at it and its aload of crap to be honest. Good old real ice cream is the best x not the crap out of them machines x
