To confirm im pregnant, cant believe he actually asked my why i thought i was pregnant!!

Told him no period and 6 BFP's had summat to do with it! Still gotta send off a urine sample tomorrow (never did this with last 2)

Then he gave me a leaflet to ring/email or text a midwife!! (sorry im a bit shocked been 7yrs since my last pregnancy)

Actually left his room feeling very deflated and now i just feel down in the dumps, might just be me but its like they not bothered!

Plus ive gotta stop the pain meds ive been on for yrs so heres to 8mths of no sleep and constant pain

Sorry for long post xx

Ah docs r so funny sometimes! They should be able to change meds as some r safe in pregnancy. Codeine and paracetomal are ok, but not always helpful to ppl!

Its been a long time since my last pregnancy. I phoned to book an appt and they got doctor to call me back. He woz really pleasant and cos previous births have been straightforward I dont need to see them. Just got folic acid and appt with midwife. Which is next week but seems a million years away

Silly doctors. Don't let him spoil it for you. And like MrsMc has said, there may well be some medicines for pain management that you can safely take in pregnancy. Your MW should know (so should your GP, but he seems to be a prat, anyway....). Congratulations, I think it is wonderful and exciting news!!

Really interesting to see how different Drs are. I phoned my Dr when I was 3 weeks to make an appointment to confirm and he said they don't confirm pregnancies anymore as the tests you can buy are just as accurate, so he made me a midwife appointment!

Mine didn't check either, just booked me in with the midwife :eh:

mine just gave me some folic acid and then chucked me out and said ill make u an app with hospital wich i didnt get untill i was 11 weeks!!!!
some of them are so rubish

Yep, my GP wasn't bothered at all. I was already taking folic acid, so he just said 'Oh you need to make an appointment to see the midwife, talk to the receptionist on your way out', and that was it. Like others have said the hpts are now even more accurate than the ones they do in the GP surgery.

Thanks my gp asked ME if theres anything else i could take for the pain!! I said nothing that works and that was end of that

Didnt even get a script for folic acid he just wrote it down told me to buy it over counter as its cheaper than paying script charges

His parting shot was "we'll see how it goes"

What an objectionable specimen! Hopefully your midwife will be more helpful!

Fingers crossed she will altho me and midwifes dont have a good relationship!

Like i said felt really deflated and even when i question my hospital records still being in my maiden name he said "oh hosp records aint updated often!

So now my sample has gone off in my maiden name to hospital when it comes back to surgery will they even know cos my name different there!

OMG sorry to sound so dramatic but theyre all useless!!!! xx
