1st AF - is this normal?

I got my first AF 3 weeks ago, so 9 wks after birth. It was really heavy and painful for about 4 days and then it turned into that horrible browny blood wuth just a bit on a pad each day. About a week ago it got really heavy again and has been ever since. Does this sound normal?

I started using the contraceptive patch on the first day too, so could it be that? (I am on the 7 free days now, so last week shouldn't have been another af)

I think anything goes for the first period to be honest, your body's clearing out all the crap that didn't come out during the birth... if you're worried though ask your health visitor... believe me they'll have heard a lot worse!
