My little girl always used to have a short nap after brekkie but just lately is screaming the house down. I can see she is knackered but will not sleep at all. If I hold her she nods off but as soon as I put her down she's off again. Most of the time I give in and get her up but then she's knackered all day and grumpy with it.

Any ideas? I can't get her to nap but its not great that she's so tired either :(

Have you tried putting her down for a nap later in the day?

Around 12 months harper stopped her morning and late afternoon nap and has one nap a day around 1-2pm for 1.5/2 hours, whereas before she napped little and often x

Yes she just seems to fight it all day! She did eventually nod off in the car. Just got her down now, I led in the room for a bit, then when cleaning the bathroom she was crying so I was chatting to her from the other rooms. She's just nodded off! I told her we were going to take her out but she needed a nap first ha! I must sound like a crazy woman!

Anyway it will all go to pot once grandma has her again next week!!

My LO usually naps at 12ish. I put him down with a bottle of juice and he just drifts of. However when he is overtired he does the screaming. I always make sure he is on as get emotional still when he cries but I do leave him as I know he needs to sleep !! Luckily he can find his dummy now and put it in too which helps xx

Dark room is the winner for us, along with a short wind down of about 30mins with some books, a little warm milk and lots of cuddles. It sometimes feels totally thankless, can take me an hour to get her down for an hourbut I see it as an investment as then we don't have the grumpies all day!

My boy the same (hes 12m old) - merged naps so has 1 nap usually about 12ish after an early lunch at 11.30..

My son went down to one nap a day at just 10 months old :-( I wasn't impressed. He dropped his 10am and 2pm and we shifted his nap to 11am and moved his bedtime forward. For over a year now he's been napping from 12-2pm and got a nice solid routine sorted.
