Im currently just over 12 weeks pregnant, ive previously had a scare and had to have an early scan at 6 & 8 weeks, everything was fine! I had my booking appointment with the midwife 2 weeks ago at 10 weeks and she referred me to the hospital for my screening & dating scan! I still havent recieved anything from the hospital so i called them last week and they told me theyd recieved nothing from my midwife, so asked my midwife who sent everything over first time and since has faxed my details 3 times and even posted them to the hospital! I called the hospital on friday to ask if theyd recieved them yet in which they responded yes we have them you just have to wait for your letter with appointment! I had a call back 5 mins later telling me there was a mix up & they still havent recieved my details! My midwife called me today and told me that shes sent them through for the 4th time today and that shes really sorry she doesnt know whats going on but the hospital should phone me today, ive waited all day for a phone call from the hospital and recieved nothing! I called them just now & they closed at 4 so ive missed them for today! Do you girls think im being too pushy? This is my first pregnancy and because ive had the scare previously in this pregnancy im a bit anxious! & what do you think i should do? I really dont want to make a complaint because i have to deal with the staff for the next 6 months! Thank you!

Just keep asking until it is booked properly. It's frustrating because the NHS seems to only hire incredibly rude and imcompetent people to work as it's receptionists.

Keep ringing them.

Your first scan should be done before week 14 so you still have a bit of time, try not to stress too much but keep phoning them x

How frustrating for you. I would keep calling don't try and save anyone's feelings other than your own! Cxxxx

Are you abroad?? Just judging by time....

My midwife said they needed to do the scan before 13 weeks to do the nuchal measurements for screening, otherwise it's just the blood test at 16w. I'd call again c

They finally booked for next tuesday ill be 13 weeks 5 days! Thank you everyone x

Glad it's sorted :)

In future I wouldn't worry about being too pushy, it's ridiculous that they weren't receiving your details and they deal with so many pregnancies the people at the hospital aren't going to remember you when you're back there for another scan. So although you are going to be back for other things, they're not going to remember you as ''the one who kept calling'' even if they did surely even they can understand your frustration at it not getting sorted when it should.

I'm so glad you have a date. I'm Also finding the whole process frustrating at the moment. I saw my GP at her request only to be told to simply tell reception who'd let midwife know who would then call me at 8 weeks. Well I'm closer to 9 weeks, now and I've heard nothing so I'll be calling the children's center myself tomorrow so chase them up! Seems pointless that I couldn't just self refer in the first place xx

Never worry about being pushy...what a wonderful sign of what a fierce mum you'll be :)
