Too much!! :shock: (now I've worked it out) :oops:
We live in a 3bed end terrace - average size - up north and it is as follows.....

£460 on rent
£40 contents insurance (part of rental agreement)
£93 council tax
£12 bt line
£25 water
approx £60 sky package (TV broadband and phone) - it may be less but hubby never checks the bill to tell me!! :wall:
£40 gas (approx)
£30 electric (approx)
(We've already paid for the years TV licence so I haven't counted this)

So that's a fixed £760 we HAVE to spend every month :shock:

Then there's the food bills.....which is anything from £250 to £350 depending on where we shop throughout the month :roll:

.....

:oops: Then there's all the personal extras....like £40 cat food, £30 cat litter, mobile phones, catalogs, items on credit etc/

And a baby on the way.....ooooh beta get payin off the credit and savin the pennies!!! :rotfl:

Off the top of my head

gas and electricity combined = approx £92 a month

It's really not nice :shakehead:

edit: I live in a 3 bedroomed detached house, built approx 1985, valued (a year ago) at £290,00

edit: food = usually around £70 a week but I'm trying to get it cut down to £40 a month because we can't afford the £70 more since we've got our loan now (last thing on the list above)

It's hard for me as we pay some things annually, quarterly and monthly but I'll try my best.

3 bed terrace.

Mortgage: £300 (a month)
Life Insurance and ASU: £50 (a month)
Countil Tax: £117 (10 months a year)
Phone: £45 (quarterly)
Sky package: £32 (a month)
Home Insurance: £200 (a year)
Car Insurance: £300 (a year)
TV Licence: £35 (quarterly)
Pension: £50 (a month)

Electric/gas ; Pre pay meter at about £50 a month ???

we used to pay every 3 months but it was getting too expencive so we now pay £50 a month for gas& electric together. It was a deal we got when we got our mortgage. Before we were paying £100-£150 every 3 months each!! Our council tax is about £105 gone up from £90 odd. and we pay about £40 insurance (house, contents etc) a month. £612 mortgage. £15 internet. then stuff like telly, food, generally housey stuff that crops up :wall: but theres nothing more rewarding than owning your own place :) good luck with the house!

£40 is loads for contents insurance

We have a one bed flat in Hove, Brighton

Rent = £650 (Moving soon so that will go up :roll: )
Council Tax = £120
Internet/Phone Bill = £40
Water = £30
Electric = £30
Food = £120
TV Licence = £30odd per quarter

We don't have gas, and we do pretty well on the electric, but we're very careful with leaving lights on etc and use energy saving bulbs (In fact, they seem to have lasted ages too, we bought them when we moved in in June last year!)

Our bills foe 4 bed cottage with 2 adults, 2 children & 1 baby.

Council Tax : £190pcm
Gas: £100pcm ( lpg gas tank, we don't have mains out here)
Electric: £60pcm
Water: £40pcm
BT: £65 (phone & internet)
home insurances:£35
TV lic: £15
Food : £500

Unfortunately as well as our own items it has to specifically cover landlords fixtures and fittings for £2,500 as part of the rent contract :evil:
We already had contents insurance for about £28 a month but they didn't offer this kind of package and I didn't really have time to shop around (was moving in a rush :roll: ). Checked 1 or 2 companies and non of them offered extra cover for landlords items so I ended up having to go with the company that the estate agent has a contract with :shakehead:

I think it's actually £38 a month but I call it £40 for sake of adding up. Off the top of my head we're covered for £20k own contents, £2,500 landlords, accidental damage cover and personal items world wide up to £1,500 per claim :think:

We need £1700 per month to live comfortably in a 2 bed house with 2 adults and 1 baby. It's all the little things that add up like the popping to the shop for a loaf of bread and then coming out with a basket full of cakes :oops: :lol: , unexpected things breaking like fridges or washing machines can bugger up your month :( .

We're moving soon so should be getting a better deal (told £100 less per month) on our mortgage and then will also be changing home and life insurance people to someone cheaper but not worth doing it yet as hoping to be out by Xmas. Will probably put all insurances with HSBC as hoping to get group discounts.
