Would you go on holidays late in pregnancy? Should I wait?

We decided to try to get Pg in July. I had my BFP but then a chemical in August. Unforturnely I have an abroad wedding to attend at the end of May which we have already booked and paid for. I had to then wait to try as if I got PG in Aug or Sept them the baby would be due just before or during the holiday. I was planning on trying again this month but since my chemical, my cylces have become shorter so that my cycle started at the end of September, rather than towards the 10th of October. Now that my cylcles have shorted and this one started early also, I am worried that my due date will again be too close to the holiday but I don’t want to have to wait another month as I’ve counting down until October.

If I was lucky enough to get PG this month, then my due date will be around the 7th of July. It may even be pushed forward slightly and that is what happened with my other two pregnancies. My holiday is booked for he 28th of May returning on the 4th of June. The airline states that
most cases, you can fly up to the 36th week, providing your pregnancy is progressing as normal and there have been no complications along the way. That means you’ll need to have flown home before the start of your 37th week.

I would be flying out when I was 34 (+)weeks and home at 35 weeks(+)

Am I crazy for planning to get pregnant this month?

I know that I shouldn’t rely on this but my previous pregnancies have beebn problem free and I gave birth at 41+6 and 41+2

What if I end up with twins?

What would you do?

I don’t think you should put your life on hold because of this wedding you have abroad.
If you want a baby that bad then I think you should go for it.
the airline states you are able to so I would personally go for it. X

I was signed off of work at 25 weeks due to severe back pain, so personally I wouldn't even plan to go more than 2 miles away from home late in the third trimester! But really it's all down to what you think you can handle. Some women are lucky enough to be healthy and fit enough to work/travel/go out until their due date, others are bed ridden the entire pregnancy, and millions are somewhere in between.

It depends on how set you are on absolutely flying out for the wedding. If you're happy with the possibility of being unable to attend and losing the money and missing the experience, then go for getting pregnant. If this means that much then I'd personally wait a month :)

As a first timer, I had no idea how I would be so once we found out, we did plan holidays accordingly but we tend to book later anyway.

I have had a very good pregnancy and if I was going to a wedding abroad now, I'd feel fit to go. I'm assuming from the length of your trip that it isn't a long flight. I wouldn't be nearly as keen on long haul mainly because I get stiff if I sit too long. I know this isn't the case for everyone. I'm still working full time whereas a lot of people have stopped by this point. I'm definitely one of the lucky ones as I just don't look or feel nearly as pregnant as I am!!

As you've had 2 good pregnancies already, I think I would just make sure you have good travel insurance in place so that you would be covered in the event that you were unfit to fly for medical reasons. I'd also consider the destination in terms of access to medical help should you need it.

I wouldn't take the risk personally even if you have had 2 healthy pregnancies. Every pregnancy is different and you may find your Dr may not sign you off to travel so late.
Ultimately though its your deciscion though and if your happy then that's all that matters

I'm panicking now. We've decided to wait at least another month however I have had unprotected sex once this month. I didn't really think it through. It's in crete which isn't too far but it's not a super short flight.

I'd be aroun d 34+weeks going and 35weeks +coming back. I worked up until 38 weeks so I think physically I shuld feel fine. My main worry is whast would happen if I gave birth over there witrh passports, flying home etc. Anyone have any info on this.

of Course this may all be irrelevant as I may not actually get pregnant this month.

I wouldof course get proper insurance etc to cover all eventualities.

Would I be in the same position next month? So I would be around 31/32 weeks if I tried next month.
I've already waiting since my chemical in august to try again so feels horrible having to wait even longer. I also don't want too much of a gap between my children.

The holiday is a family wedding which has been paid for by my parents. If I couldn't got, then my children or husband wont be going either so don't think it's a case of not going.

I would not put TTC on hold. I think the chances are you'll be totally fine. There are so many things that could go wrong that would ruin a trip that have nothing to do with pregnancy, and no one would dream of telling you not to make plans because of that! It's true that every pregnancy is different but in my experience, you have a pretty good idea of what your body does by the 3rd baby. I'm on baby 4 and emotionally I've had different experiences but physically it's all been pretty predictable. If you've felt that well so late in pregnancy before, you can pretty safely assume you will again. There are always exceptions, but a new baby is more important than anything, if that's what your heart desires. So don't worry. Go forward with your plans -- TTC AND the trip. I'm sure it will all be fine!

I'm with Kholl on this. I chose to be more cautious as it was all brand new but if I found myself in that situation second time round I would be far more confident about it. I would be totally aware that every pregnancy is different and that it's possible that I could have issues but as long as I had appropriate insurance in place then I would be covered financially. I would make the final judgement based on how the pregnancy was going and how it compared to the previous ones.

I'm 35 weeks now and would feel physically able to fly to Crete for a wedding if we had one to go to that was already booked in advance of falling pregnant. Obviously I wouldn't choose to book a holiday at this point but I'd just go with it if it was already booked.

Thank you all. I think my main worry would be giving birth on a plane! It's a 4hour flight. I'm sure it wouldn't happen.

Another issue has just cropped up. we are having a restructure in work. whilst I don't think my job would be affected too much, there is a worry I could be made redundant.(which may not be a bad thing due to payout but not great timing if pregnant) Typical for this to come up now. We won't know the outcome for a few months. I wish I knew so I could plan.

I've decided not to try any more this cycle (although we did have unprotected sex on Cycle day 10. I don't think I've ovulated since so It may not happen but if it does-great. If not then I'll probably try properly next month.
