Worried about baby scan picture

I went for my 12 week scan earlier this week and found out I was 13 weeks 3 Day. this is my first pregnancy and I have been looking at my scan picture A lot over the week only thing is i am really starting to worry as I can't make out its nose at all and I have noticed 2 quite big black lines underneath my baby's head. I have looked at a lot of other scan pictures on the internet and can honestly say none of them look like my baby I don't know If it is just me but I would really appreciate any advice anyone can give me and whether or not I should not be worrying and speak to my midwife. Any advice will be appreciated. thank you

Did you only get one picture? Maybe you could scan the picture and ask your gp or midwife for some advice? They see scans everyday and will be able to help you better.

If there was something worth worrying about the sonographer would have picked it up, its what they're trained to do, Not just take the picture

I'm not an expert but your scan looks like every other baby scan to me. If the two black lines you're referring to are the ones at the bottom then I think the very bottom one is the amniotic fluid around your baby. The White line above is back of baby and the black line above that is the part they measure for the NT Scan. Did you go for the screening?
As for babies nose, baby has it's hand by its face and remember scans are very blurry. You will be able to see so much more at your 20 week and if you're still worried you can have a 3D scan, the detail is amazing x

Yes I only got one, I was going to ask midwife but I wanted to et some advice first as I'm not really sure as this is my first and it's all new to me. I am a bit of a worrier to be honest 🙈 Thank u for ur reply ☺️

Yes those are the lines I'm on about I just can't seem to see 2 on any others I've looked at. They asked me if I wanted screening for Down syndrome etc which I have had I am waiting for the results.

I do see the hand above the face and maybe that is part of the arm which is making the face look a bit weird to me 🙈

I will definitely be having a 3D scan I've seen them they do look amazing ☺️ I just feel like that is so far away and as I've said I seen so much stuff on the internet I had to ask 🙈

I have a 12w scan where you can see 2 lines behind her head. I have had the NIPT done and she is totally normal. Like Onedaysoon says, it might be the edge of the uterine wall.

You're welcome. It's so natural to worry and especially with your first. I spent the whole of my last pregnancy in constant worry and I regret it so much, I missed out on enjoying all the good bits. I'm still worried every day over this one but not nearly as bad as I know I can be lol.
I'm sure there are thousands that look the same, mine has the black underneath but it's a lot bigger as mine was done at 12+2 so baby wouldn't have taken up as much space as a 13 week scan.
Try and relax, all looks perfectly normal x

Just commented on your other thread. It looks completely normal, the lines you see are the gap between baby and the lining of your uterus. I can clearly see a little nose that's being covered by a hand. A mw or a gp won't be able to tell you much because they're not training in sonography. Hard as it is, stop stressing. That's a lovely scan pic and all will be well if the sonographer hasn't said anything concerning

I'm exactly the same for worrying, this is my first and I too keep looking at my scan pics and wondering what every little thing is! lol I think you've been unfortunate to only get one scan pic!! I was given loads and both my scans.. anyway I've attached two of mine , both taken at 13+5 days, in one it doesn't look like there's a nose either but in the other you can clearly see a little nose! Remember they are wriggling around like mad in there so they are at all sorts of funny angles! xxx

Thank you all for you replies. It has put my mind a rest a little after reading these comments.

As mentioned I do need to stop worrying and enjoy the moment but it is so hard to.

When I had my 12 week scan I had exactly the same worries! I thought my baby had no face!!! I spent weeks feeling slightly miserable but it is just the way some scan pics are. I also trawled the Internet and felt I couldn't find one that was like mine either. I am now nearly 22 weeks and I saw everything in detail at my 20 week scan and everything is fine! Your scan looks absolutely fine to me. I'll try and dig out my 12 week scan to show you later xx

It's important to remember that scan pics are not photographs.. They are done by sound waves bouncing off the baby. It's easy for them to get blurred or interrupted so you can't make out some features well.

I wouldn't worry on my 12 week scan bubz had her back to us we could even see her face all we had was bum and back 20 weeks they check the face I'm sure all is well and was just the way scan went x

Try not to worry hun, it's very hard not to but I've out my 12 week scan up and then baby at 21 weeks.. you will see the difference. Looks like two different babies lol. But she is defo the same baby and has just grown. Hope this helps xxx
