if you dont get working tax cos apprently your wages are too high , does that mean you dont get help ith child care ? im currently jobless and hubby earns 24k a year , but we live in london and even 2 days a week at the cheapest nursery is 340 amonth , meaning if i was to work 16 hours a week id prob only earn 410 a month  not really leaving much left over !!!

Yes you do get the childcare element if you don't get working tax credit.

Yes you can still get help with the childcare element, but tbh you might not get much. We are in a similar financial position, in that my OH earms around £22,000 and I work around 20 hours a week. Our childcare was averaging around £260 a month and we got roughly £50 a month towards it. Its not a great deal, but it obviously helps! But then you may get more because your total childcare cost is more... Its worth just ringing the tax credits helpline and asking them drectly, they may be able to give you an estimate over the phone :D
