So I am almost 5 weeks and I have told my employer. I work for a large supermarket chain and I cannot guarantee I will be more then 2m away from others at all times. In fact I can guarantee I will be closer as I work on a till. We have screens up and are offered PPE hoevwer we still take cash payments etc so I am still at risk of exposure. The company have said I am expected to work as normal and then take early maternity leave at 28 weeks. However, when looking online I am seeing that all pregnant women are classed as vunerable and if the social distancing cannot be adhered to and there is no option to work from home then my company should suspend me on full pay? They are carrying out a risk assessment when I am next in on Monday but I'm worried I don't have the correct information and I don't want to put the baby at risk as I'm already terrified. Is anyone in a similar situation or more clued up on the guidelines? Thank you in advance x
