Hello ladies! When would you say you gave up work when pregnant?

Im trying to figure out how much time i can work for comfortably!

I worked until I was 35 weeks on my daughter but found that hard going. This time I gave up at 32 weeks but as a teacher I had the added bonus of having the summer holidays, my mat leave started then after the holidays - sept 7th when I would have been 36 weeks, dont honestly think I could have gone any longer than that.

I gave up 5 weeks before my due date but to be honest I could have done with leaving about 6 weeks before my due date but my job is as a care assistant at the hospital so it can be quite physical. If your job means you are sat down all day you could probably leave 2 weeks before your due date but it just depends on how you feel at the time. Just remember the later you leave the more time you will get with your baby but obviously don't carry on working if you don't feel you can.

I worked until 38 weeks, but I have an office job where I am seated all day..I was promoted a few months earlier, and work was stressful but I coped ok in the end and working so late kept me occupied and not worrying about the birth. As it was, she was 12 days overdue anyway so I got plenty of rest once I finished work and we got Christmas out of the way

I was lucky and had a really good pregnancy, and felt really good in the last tri.

Everyone is different though, it is good to get as much rest as you can before hand.

i think around 36 weeks is a sensible time to finish work. BUT if your work is relatively easy (not stressful or manual) and you feel ok you may want to work longer and converserly if work is stressful/manual or you just don't feel good you may want to finish earlier.

No help really am I. I think what I am trying to say is everyones circumstances are different and just go with what is best for you.

Yeah it totally depends on your job. My job is very easy and stress free so I worked until just before my due date....then I took my holiday.
This way I got to have more time off with Brody when he eventually arrived ( I went overdue too)

i worked up til 36weeks and i hated it!!!
stuck in a store with fake lighting in the boiling hot summer - not my best memory of pregnancy!!

i worked up untill the day Dior was born.

with Harley i left at 35weeks knowing he would come early and he did he came 2 days after i left work

hi, i worked til 37 weeks, i work in an office so was not on my feet all day. i just had a couple of small breaks mid morning and afternoon so i wasnt sitting still all day. My little boy came a week early so in the end i only gave up 2 weeks before his arrival. Also i took the last of my holidays so maternity leave didnt actually start until the day after he was born so i had the full 6 months off with him :D

I gave up work on the 23rd Jan, Jamie was due 15th April & came on the 21st. I had loads of leave to use up & as I knew I wouldn't be returning to work I took it before rather than after. Just as well really as I could hardly walk due to SPD!!

I worked (part-time) until 1st August.
Lydia was due on 7th September but she actually arrived on 25th Sept.
