Right after a rubbish night last night I spoke to my doctor (who fortunately rang to see how I was getting on) and I mentioned about Harry's wind, so he suggested we get some infacol

So hubby has been and got some this afternoon and just waiting for Harry to wake up for his next feed so we can give it to him

Does anyone have any tips about how to give it to him? Have obv read the instructions but I know a lot of you have used this so thought I'd get your advice

I know I need to wind him after his feed but he really isn't keen on being up on shoulder or being sat up and leant forward- what works best for your LO?

Also I'm prob guessing that he'll wake up within the next hour max as he's be down just under 2 hours. Obv hell be fed which I'll try and make a long one, then he may be awake for a little while

What would you all do about getting him to bed to try and get a better night for us all? I'd usually just put him down in his basket in lounge with us and then take him to bed when we go

Sorry for the essay just determined to be prepared and have a better night

Ps- Harry is only 6 days old x

i do the sit up and pat, you could lay him over your knee on his tummy? infacol does really help them burp you just have to keep using it and give it a day or 2 to be fully effective

I just squirt in his mouth with his head tipped slightly back let him swallow and give him the food ASAP

Ok keep the tips coming I'm planning on being as ready as I can be!

I put the infacol in the teat of the bottle and give her that First, then the bottle. The wind should come up easy after that. Good luck xx

Tip for the moses basket, Evie settles much better when I pre-warm it with a hot water bottle. I have now been using Infacol for 24 hours and there has been a dramatic increase in the number of trumps she is doing! Lol!

ive been using infacol for 4 days now and hes still got painful wind :s

hopefully it works for you though, im trying colief now so if infacol doesnt work for you ask me in a few days and ill let you know if the colief works!

xxx

I used it for a bit, squirted at back of his tongue. Think he quite liked it and associated it with food after a while cause it would stop him moaning instantly! Got some big burps up, but think sometimes they hurt him! Moved on to gripe water after a while cause seemed to be struggling again. Difficult to get it in him but would work straight away, sticky stuff though and sometimes made him sick. Started just using it when he was struggling which was less and less and by 6 weeks he was much better, maybe his digestive system matured a bit? He does big man burps now but still gets frustrated trying to get out his bottom wind, often have to assist by lifting and cycling his legs! Good luck x

I give it on back of her tongue or cheek an pop a dummy in straight away to make sure she swallows it all down first and then give bottle straight after , like the girls have said it does take a few days to work but helps kayla loads

I usually burp her sitting up on my knee and hold her close to my body so i can keep her upright rather than hunched , she hates all positions but find this one work the best, aslo sometimes if i lay her back for a second then up again she gets a bit up

ht
hope you get a better night tonight x

Ok operation better night underway.

Harry is changed and on bed with me having a feed. He had a good feed between half 6 and 7, then another between 7.45 and 8.

Bit of awake time then nappy changed and upstairs with me. He now having another feed then plan is wind and bed.

Should I put him down awake or let him fall asleep with me?
