My little tinker has started to wake up quite a bit in the night. Initially she started at 2am, 4am, 6am but I started dream feeding her and this worked for a few nights as she would sleep straight til 5am or 6am. She goes down at night between 7-730pm and is conked at this time. I then dream feed at 1030/1100. Last night she woke at 1am but I left her and she fell back to sleep a few mins later. She then woke at 430 for 2oz, again at 540am - I left her for a bit but she was babbling so I offered the rest of the bottle and she had 1oz & fell asleep on me. Then woke again at 640am - she didn't want feeding at all this time, just a cuddle it seems :cloud9: At this point I brought her in the bed and we dozed for a bit and she then wanted feeding at 745am. She is having 2.5-3 hours sleep in the day and she really needs this as she gets the right hump if she's tired but I wonder if I should cut it back and see if it makes a difference? She is eating more & more so in theory should go longer. I'm buggered if I know what's changed?!?!

Can someone reassure me it's just a phase or tell me where I'm going wrong!

It may be a phase, Caitlin after her 3rd set of jabs seemed to exist on little sleep, she go to bed at her usual time, then wake up an hour and a half later, feed for ten mins fall asleep, then be up every hour of the night, often staying awake for the day at 5 am, didnt nap much in day either, it lasted 8 weeks, she is now pretty good and sleeps 8.30/9pm til about 7/8am waking once for a quick feed

Owen started waking frequently at about 11 weeks and has got steadily worse. He is now 23 weeks and won't sleep for more than an hour at a time and will only sleep at all in our bed.
Does anyone have any advice or can at least tell me when things might get better.

I can't think of any specific advice I'm afraid hon. O tended to wake A LOT! he was feeding every 3 hours at night til at least 6 months then he'd wake every hour or 2 and often need a little shh and pat. No *touch wood* at 14 months hes pretty amazing and has been for a few months.

If it's not food she wants and you offer the dummy just try and shh and pat to see if shell go down. It does get better. I just wish someone could have given me a glimpse into the proper evenings and sleep I have now this time last year. would have really kept me going in the dark times xxx

if it was me if she was babbiling away to herself i would leave her she will either cry or go back to sleep and then she wont wake for just a cuddle x

tell you what you try having an 8 month old who does this, sleeps through once in a blue moon. she is 2 months old she will need her milk. just grin and bare it hunny I had to feed my son every 3 hours on the dot at that age as he was jaunice and had to keep the routine up foe ages until midwife was happy with him taking more milk.
