Whooshing sound in ear

Hi ladies

For the last few weeks I've been getting like a whooshing sound in my ear, kind of like wind blowing, and at times It sounds like a heartbeat. At first it was just a few times a day, but the last few days it has been about 80% of waking hours- not aware of it when I sleep. Really annoying though and also suffering with a wisdom tooth at the mo so feel like I am getting it from all angles!!

Have done some googling (as we do!!) and came across a few old posts on pregnancy forums where ladies are talking about getting something similar, and that it is called pulsatile tinnitus.

Basically, just wondering if anyone else has had/is getting this?

I had it from about week 36 and it went away as soon as i gave birth. Mine felt like massive pressure in my left ear and in my right ear i had a constant echo which was really annoying. Just glad its gone now.

I got that in my pregnancies also v annoying and I ended up having to put earphones on to get to sleep

Thanks. Yeh, mine is just in my left ear. So frustrating!! The thought of another 20weeks with it isn't too pleasant...! Xxx

Good to know its not just me. Really sucks though guess its maybe due to the increased blood flow, I dunno. Xxx

Yeah I had it the last time too and a little this time, due to increased blood volume in pregnancy. Very annoying though! My gp hadn't even heard of it! (pardon the pun)

I'm getting something which sounds a little like this in my right ear! But mine is more of a thumping sound. I've had recurring earache a lot so I put it down to just that, although now I'm thinking it actually might be pregnancy related! xxx

Mine was in my left ear too it drove me nuts but also got it when I wasn't preg and ut was congestion and the only thing that helped was a decongestant called contac I think I swea I was so glad to Hav found it lol x
