Hi Everyone!!

I'm 33 and a bit weeks PG and ive noticed over the past couple of weeks that i'm more tired than I used to be and because my blood pressure has dropped slightly, I find even going for a walk 'spins' me out!!

Up until a couple of weeks ago I was still swimming or going to the gym 3 times a week, along with going for walks. I thought by maintaining my fitness it would make things easier for the birth.

But now...I just cant do it!!!!! I'm exhausted!!!!!! Its just suddenly happened!!!!! I managed to get in a quick gentle swim this avo, but not doing anything to use up too much energy.

Is anyone else still excersising or are you starting to slow down at this stage???

I stopped exercising the moment I got my bfp!
My only form of 'exercise' now is a waddle to the school and back twice a day.

If you're exhausted, then listen to your body and stop. I've been horrendously tired the last few weeks and just getting out of bed in the morning has been hard! I think at this stage our bodies are under a lot of strain from just doing normal day to day stuff.

hello

I walked about 4miles in the snow uphill at 6months but now the pressure on my hips, pelvis means i am in agony after a 20min walk, you just have to go with what your body is telling you x

I'm trying- I walked up the shops today but it was agony so I think I just need to take it easy now. :x

I'm still walking out and about round the farm. Regular trips up and down the drive (half mile each way and a long gradual hill to boot) and also with the dog round the fields here. All of those are hilly one way or the other.

I find I do pretty well. I have to go slow but its still walking. I am not breathless at all really, just when walking up hill gravity and my bump don't get on so I get back ache and have to slow down a bit. And I have plenty of energy most of the time, just I am taking it steady and ensuring I rest up as much as possible to be fresh for labour and baby.

I have the odd day of fatigue, which MW said is normal and to just rest as much as I want and sleep then also.

Other than that, nope no exercise. Unless you count typing

I'm still at the gym 4 days a week and usually do a long walk on a Saturday or Sunday, but then I'm much earlier on than you are - no idea how I'll feel in a few weeks time!

The main thing I miss is my running, I know they 'say' there is no harm but I stoped that from the start as it didn't feel right. So I'm sticking to the less jiggly machines like the bikes/stepper/cross trainer now, but ensuring my heart rate stays around 150/160 bpm and doesn't go above 180 bpm. (In other words, fairly gentle!).

Also starting pregnancy yoga next week.

Really hoping to go on as long as I can because like you, I hope it will help me in the birth.

I used to play hockey before BFP which i had to give up straight away as it was too dangerous but i carried on doing lots of walking up until about 32 weeks then spd started and it became too painful. Im still going out for at least one small walk every day for the fresh air.

i love walking but the last 2 weeks im just soooooo tired, i am trying to do a bit when i can but its not much at all

keep on telling myself when bump is born i will make up for it going on loads of summer walks :D

DITTO! I am determined i'll do my fair share of walking once baby is here :) I haven't exercised as such at all during the pregnancy unless you count a 30 minute swim at about 10 weeks gone... which made me feel sick. Lol

As for walking, only when i'm shopping generally! Did go for a wander down the beach the other day but it hurt so i stopped. Lol.

I think the key is to listen to your body, if it hurts or leaves you ill then don't do it :) xxxx

I am still exercising but have slowed down a little bit. I go swimming 2 - 3 times a week but take more breaks. I swim for 30 minutes all together with two breaks in between when I also stretch to avoid cramps.

I also try to walk everyday instead of taking a bus. Some days I go for a longer walk on a heath (45 - 90 minutes), but again I take more breaks.

All together I try exercise at least 4 - 5 times a week which is more than I had time for when working :D

Have you had your iron levels tested? I was anemic and taking iron tablets helped me to recover my energy levels...

I grew up living close to the sea miss it like mad now

Wow Sarah  going to the gym 3 times a week to 33 weeks bloody hell
i wouldnt last 1 session
well done

My exercise is chasing little monkey 3 to 4 years olds around at work that keeps me fit enough :rotfl:

i stoped doing matrial arts and dance classes just before xmas
one to save money and i couldnt cycle as well with my bump to get to and from the classes and home (i dont drive)

I used to cycle to and from work but stopped at 22 weeks as my bump became so restricted on the bike i was physicaly sick so had to stop.

i still go for lovely walks with my Man James in the country side
and i still enjoy love making exercise  :rotfl:
dont get enough of it to be honest

My MF told me due to all the exercise i used to do my tummy muscles are tight and compact and i sould get my shape back quickly.
and strong muscles to aid in labour
all good news

sarah

Gosh I feel ashamed reading about everone who does loads of exercise!!!

I've been a right lazy bones since i became pregnant-I can't do anything over physical-even walking tires me out!! I work full time and also run around after kids all day but by 3.15 I am exhausted!!!

So if you have kept up the gym ect this long I think you have done really well :cheer: If you are beginning to feel tired I'd start taking it a bit easier and don't worry too much about it.

hi there!

The best advise is to listen to your body but you might want to also look at several things. Maybe your training routine is too intensive, it might be worth implementing more stretching and relaxation exercises at this stage. Secondly, you might want to reassess your diet and making sure you're eating enough carbohdrates to give you energy for exercising. And still even very gentle exercising will be beneficial for both of you!

i want to be! I had to stop at 24 weeks when i was diagnosed with Pelvic Girdle Pain, but when i am fitted with a strap i hope to be able to gentle walks again (fingers crossed).

Sandi

Oh Sandi you poor thing, hopefully the strap will help!!

Thanks for the advice Barbara. :D
