where can i get a turkey from with out cost a fortune there will be 5 people plus amy tescos have them in for 25 quid but i think thats way expensive for a turkey is there anywhere cheaper

Hey! When my dad said how much turkeys are in the supermarket I couldn't believe it! Have you got any local farm shops around to ask? Some farmers may be taking turkey orders. They do in our area anyway! X

My mother in law always gets ours and I think she got it from asda (I'll double check) but it's a Bernard Matthews turkey crown for £17 not bad considering it's all turkey breast. It's always enough to feed us four plus loads left over.

My Aunt has ordered locally, she got a Turkey Crown, so it's mainly just breast, not sure if that means it was cheaper....

Turkey crowns tend to be more expensive than whole turkeys - I reckon it's cos you get more out of a crown.

I'm gettig ours from OH's work. Lucky he works in a butchers! :)

try your local butchers?

Does it have to be Turkey? What about a gammon or beef joint? Or get a couple of whole chickens. Options! Who says you have to eat Turkey on Christmas Day?

Lol good point! I enjoy it on Xmas day as I don't eat it any other time of year lol xx

lol, in fact where does the Turkey tradition actually come from?? Does anyone know? We all eat it but why? (scuttles off to google it...........)

I've ordered mine from a Local farm shop along with other meat for over the xmas period!
