where are you from?

out of interest tonks, what accent do you have?? i love how accents change so quick! i had an english accent til i started primary school, cos my parents and all their friends were airforce, then it went really really horrible broad scottish and within a month of moving to england i was english again!! funnily enough tho, when my sister sings, she uses scottish vowels!

A very varied one

Scottish people can tell I'm from Scotland, but English people don't tend to know where I'm from. I have a soft Scottish accent with a bit of Irish and a bit of American thrown in. Different words bring out different sides of it. It's all a bit bizarre

:D

I was born in Oxford, raised in Cape Town and Johannesburg and now live in Luton, Bedfordshire (not really an exciting town... but here for hubby's work!)

x

I was born in Oxford too and all my family live around there, but moved down to Sussex when my mum met my stepdad. Now we live 10mins from Brighton :)

lol i love how varied accents get! i always know when my mum's been talking to my grandad or my aunty cos she's really devonshire, when normally she's all prim and proper  and my dad goes really lancashire on occasions, but really posh if he's on the phone!!

I know what u mean, I was yorkshire born, grew up in Cambridge and now back near to my roots, so have a fairly mixed accent I think, but on the phone to my cousin who is broad yorkshire I suddenly get broad yorkshire too... but can I hell put it on for anyone!!

I was born and raised in Cheshire, then moved around a lot over the last 10 years but have just moved back to Cheshire as no where else felt like home. I'm picking up my northern accent again which I love!

We live in North Wales, I'm originally a Chester girl but I spent all my teen years in Northern Ireland and miss it very much!

I was the opposite of that - I had a scottish accent until I started primary school, then southern english... then I lived in the midlands for years and I didn't think I sounded any different but to people down here I did. I think I must be back to southern again now

I live on the staffordshire/cheshire border (literally!)
