When to dtd ovulation induction.

hi lovelies, I did my trigger shot this morning so I should ovulate 10pm Sunday night.

The doctors said to dtd Friday Sunday Tuesday Thursday.

Do you think this is sufficient or should I try on the Saturday and/ Monday if ovulation is Sunday?

Don’t want to over do or under do it.

I would do it on Saturday too but I don't know if dtd more often works better or not. Did you give you a reason as to why you have to do it every 2 days?

Hi @SugaryIris my understanding is that the sperm quality is better if you do it every 2 days. I’m sure for our ivf abstinence of 2 days was required x

And remember that sperm lives for up to 5 days, I’m not sure how long it takes the egg to get where it needs to go to meet the sperm.

I think it’s because it’s takes 48hrs to produce sperm so sex more often isn’t as beneficial as they don’t have time to produce it. Yeh I’m not sure how long it takes the egg to get where it needs to either but hopefully if I dtd every other day for the week we will have all bases covered.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, as long as you're covered I'm sure that's fine. When TTC our little boy we were DTD about 3 times a day all month but this time it was much less than that (as we have a toddler ) Our fertility consultant didn't say anything about how often we should or shouldn't be DTD so I don't think there's an exact science to it xx

Thank you Hun, 3dpo today. This is going to be the longest tww ever! Especially as I can’t test early because my trigger shot will still be in my system and I’m a poas addict normally! Xx

Id say every other day as well - generally speaking
I personally think this month me & DH did it too much so already ruling meself out and prepping for next month!!
