When should you have you 2nd MW appointment?

Just wondering if anyone has received their 2nd mw appointment and if so, when is it for?

I've just received mine and i will be 17 weeks by then. Is this normal?

I just assumed they would want to see me before then, it seems such a long time away

Is this your first baby? I have my second one when i am 16 weeks, they count my scan at 12 weeks as an appointment as you can ask them questions and they are obv monitoring you and bubs, but i had one at 14 weeks as well with my son, my first, i think all areas are different though

yeah, this is my first pregnancy. I had my dating scan at 7 weeks aswell due to early problems but because everything was ok, they cancelled my 12 week scan.

maybe im just being precautious!! lol

I had my first at 7 weeks after seeing the doctor and been refered, and my next one is tomorrow (11 weeks) I'm sure she said she will be seeing me every 4 weeks now!!?? I'm from Yorkshire if this helps?

The midwives in my area recommend a second appointment between 14-16 weeks, but that's taking into account the scan at around 12 weeks. And then it's every four weeks, but towards end this increases to every fortnight, going weekly once you hit your due date.

I am not getting my first one until I am 10weeks Which is very annoying. Just got it booked in. It was the first date she suggested. Though she did say the normally do first at 8-10weeks. I told her I was 6weeks now, but that was the first date she came up with

You don't get that many sadly. Guidelines in my area (which so far they've stuck to apart from first one being a bit late) as follows;

before 12 weeks - one to two appointments (incl booking appt)
[12 week & nuchal scan]
16-18 weeks
25 weeks
28 weeks
31 weeks
34 weeks
36 weeks
38 weeks
40 weeks
41 weeks

about three of those are extras you only get if it's your first baby. So if the wait for the 16 week appt feels long what about waiting for the 25!

I had my booking appointment today - really early as they usually want to do it at 8 weeks, but they've got one of the midwives going off on maternity leave then!!!

I was told today that I'll get my scan through for 12 weeks and then I wont see the MF again until 16 weeks.

i had my 1st appt at 8 weeks, and my 2nd ill be around 16 weeks.

I'd somehow slipped under the midwife radar cos when i got my bfp i was referred straight to the consultant.
I rang my GPs last week and they said she'd ring me today.. but she hasn't (so far)
Apparantly she only does mondays at my doctors and the next available appointment wasn't until the 11th, which they didn't book for me for whatever reason, and i have no idea what else to do lol.

I had an early scan at 7wks (due to bleeding)
1st midwives appt at 8wks
dating scan at 13wks
2nd midwives appt next week which is 16wks
Then I've got my next scan at 21wks
not sure about other midwives appts after that
