Hello Girls,

am hoping someone in here can help me...

I had Jack on 12 August, my bleeding stopped and on 29th, 30th and 31st Aug without protection.

Still haven't had a period which i know could just be normal for just having a baby but I'm really worried and would rather know one way or another. Trouble is cos i don't know when my period is due I don't know when I would be classed as late...

How soon would I be able to test and it be accurate?

I think someone in here replied to one of my posts last time but I can't find it..

help appreciated

Don't quote me, but I think the guidelines on the tests themselves is to wait 19 days after having unprotected sex.

Don't worry though - I did the same thing after I had my daughter, but because my hormones where all over the shop I didn't get pregnant.

i would say the same as MM about 19 days after unprotected sex

 That's a tricky one! Does your cycle start with the delivery? I'm totally lost when it comes to actual successful pregnancy. I'd google when your cycle starts after giving birth if I were you, but if that is the first day then no harm in testing now.

I do know that breastfeeding can prevent your periods. My sister in law is still breast feeding her 1 year old and hasn't had a period yet. Same as with her last one. But as soon as she stopped she had a period.

Good luck

PS I've got to say how jealous I am at you being able to have sex that soon after giving birth.
I by no means had a difficult birth, but it was 10 weeks before I could bare anything (even a tampon) to go there. It became exit only

i know, i was worried it would hurt but it was as good as ever

I am breastfeeding but only alongside formula so not sure if it would be that affective. I'll try and google it. 19 days seems ages away

i found this bit of info - After pregnancy or breastfeeding – After pregnancy, a woman’s body produces high levels of prolactin – a hormone that helps to produce breast milk. Prolactin also keeps oestrogen levels low which results in a woman’s menstrual cycle being put on hold. It generally takes about four weeks for a woman’s cycle to return after giving birth, but if she breastfeeds, it may be considerably longer.

Note: After pregnancy, about 50% of women ovulate before their periods return. This means they may be fertile again before they know it.

does this mean i have a 50/50 chance of falling then?

hmmm so confusing.. I might get a test tomorrow and do it then.. that would be 2 weeks after unprotected sex... you think thats enough time?

hi i dont want to mix you up but i tested positive about 6 weeks after i had my daughter i was also still breast feeding her at this time, so just bare in mind that everyone is different and not always text book. but having them close together has been great they are really great company for each other.

I would do a test to see, if its a bfn wait to see if af arrives and if not keep testing

 wow.. how did you cope with them both when your 2nd LO was first born?

I like the idea of having two close in age as they get a little older but i just worry the beginning part would be so hard.

I'm also worried Jack would be forced to grow up to quickly as he wouldn't be the baby anymore?

I know it's silly worrying until I know for definate but i can't stop thinking about it and feel confused

it was actually fine i did have alot of help from dh and my family but it was a bit mad at feeding time and bath time we would get a bit stressed. when my second lo was boren my first lo wasnt even walking infact she only started crawling the day we brought her sister home. I dont think any have suffered or been forced to grow up fast. In a way they were more like twins they came off bottles together, came off dummies together, and toilet trained together, my second lo seemed to pick things up alot faster as she had her sister to copy.
