I had a MW appointment yesterday, and when she examined me she discovered baby is breach, although to be fair she's been like that since 20 weeks.

She said the baby should have turned by now, so i am going for a scan in 3 weeks time to check if she has turned, and if she hasn't the MW said "we'll try and turn her" i'm not entirely sure what she meant by that, i just had a horrible image of her with one of those veterinarian gloves that come up to the shoulder fishing about inside me! lol

I still have 6.5 weeks to go, and i thought this would be ample time for baby to turn round. Do you think i should be worried or is my MW being a bit dramatic?

Also, if they can't turn her, am i looking at a caesarean?

If you MW says that baby should have turned by now then I guess she must be right.

There is a procedure that a specialist consultant can do to turn your baby and I beleive can be very successful but also sometimes painful. If you go down this route try and find out the success rate of this procedure at your hospital as the more success the better.

There are things you can do to try and turn your baby without any intervention from medical people.

Just found these links which will answer most of your concerns

I dont think its too late for baby to move, my sister wa breach for a long time, they only usually start to worry at about 36 weeks.

Because theres less room theres less chance baby will turn all the way around, thats probably why shes making a fuss over it.

try not to worry, though im sure there are methods of coaxing baby to move you can try at home

Hi

My GP felt my tummy last night and said baby was head down but it could still turn and become breech as they are so unpredictable.

My brother turned at the last moment after my Mum's waters had broken so LO may turn at the last moment.

Have you tried kneeling on all 4's, that is supposed to help, do it a couple of times a day for a few minutes, not sure how true it is though.

Aimee has only went breech 2 weeks ago and hasn't turned back. My MW told me that I still have plenty of time for her to turn around but if she is still breech about week 35/36 then they'll discuss options about turning her. In your case LO still has time to turn.
My OH was breech when his mum went into labour, doctors managed to turn him but he went straight back to breech so he was born with his bum in full view... not much has changed, he still likes showing his bum off!
