Every now and again ill press my tummy down to see how hard it is etc.
But Iv been told that after a certain week you shouldnt do it anymore and it could harm the baby.
Can't remember witch week it is though
At 19 weeks is it ok to still have a few pokes?

I've never heard of that, and to be honest I think it must be rubbish because the amount of times you get prodded & poked by MW's & doctors all the way through your pregnancy, I doubt it does any harm at all?

Have a good poke!!! It gets better when they get bigger, you can try and find hands and feet and i was always resting my arm on her bum lol.

You can also get them to react to it later on, it's kinda part of bonding in a way

A good poke never did me any harm ........

ive never heard of that, wait till ur MW starts prodding the poor baby later on :rotfl:

dont worry hun babys are really well padded in there

Please dont believe what you hear all the time. I went for my 20 week scan a couple of weeks ago.. and the sonographer was being so damn rough me baby.. prodding really hard.. it was so sore and painful.. I asked her if she was ok to do that because I was worried about baby being stressed.. but the baby is surrounded by so much fluid and encased in a tough sac.. it's made to protect your baby no matter how much prodding.. as long as you don't over-do it.. a little light prodding is fine. I do it all the time. Sometimes baby even responds and kicks back. My OH always puts his hand on my belly and talks to baby and when she kicks or pokes.. he'll poke back, and she'll respond.. it's so cute! :cheer:

I suppose its a bit like a grape floating about in a water balloon! If you poke it the water just moves elsewhere and you can't actually squash the grape
