When do we trust the result of a pregnancy test?

Just hoping for a bit of inspiration here...

I am 4 days away from my AF.

I have had quite a few symptoms this month so tried an early detector test this morning which is supposed to find hcg up to 4 days before AF.

I got a BFN ...

Does anyone think that this may be too early to try or do I admit defeat for this month and crack open the stella?

i had symptoms of being pregnant when i wasnt and i also had a BFN then a few days later had a period. (which was a few days late). If i was you i would just wait a few days. It's always worse when you REALLY think you are then you wake up to find another AF!

I'm getting to the point now and I don't know if anybody else does or it's just me bur I'm sort of wishing that my period would hurry up and put me out of my misery?

If I do get a BFN I think I will try and calm it down next month, I've even resirted to a diary of feelings, food cravings and symptoms!

Is that mad?

Most people get thier BFP when AF is due, not many get thiers before.

I think having book to write your thoughts, feelings and symptoms in is a great idea, I don't think it is mad, I think it could stop you going mad!

As for detecting a pregnancy early this does not always happen, not even with these super duper early tests.......most women get their BFP in week 5, even my Doctor told me to wait til then before even attempting a test!

I tested after af was due..and i still got the faintest line possible!
Dont think i would have got any sort of line at all if i tested before!

I got BFN on day 27 of 31 day cycle, but had a feeling I was PG so tested again on day 29-got my BFP. I wasnt even late with AF!! Gobsmacked I detected so early, did 4 tests over next two days to be certain!!

Last year my AF was due around fathers day so I tested as their is no better time to announce to your OH, but guess what a BFN.

I had been getting pains and so OH was worried as this was going on for a few weeks. I had finally accepted that it wasnt time for me just yet so when the doc asked me if i could be pg i said no. Guess what I was and this was a few weeks after it was due.

I know its impossible and certainly easier said than done. But if you put getting PG out of your mind its more likely to happen. Its was all I could think about and when i decided I wasnt gonna fret so much and just enjoy life for a bit, I fell immediately.

Unfortunately I wont be TTC until my vows are said, want to get in shape for my wedding so decided to wait unntil then.

But I wish you girls the best of luck!!!! i hope to be here sooner rather than later!

i tested on the day my AF was due as my temp didn't drop as expected. i had no symptoms of pg at all which was ironic as i got symptoms all the other months i got AF!! everyone is different, its great to keep a diary i did that and it def helps xx

I was the same Rusks, I had symptoms the previous month but when I got my BFP the symptoms I had could easily have been due to the heat and an injury I have Although at the same time, I wasn't shocked to get a BFP as I think I knew deep down?!?! If that makes sense!?

What symptoms do you have babe? How you feeling?

Mine are very minor and could be due to anything.....but I wish they were a bit more severe as I don't feel PG in many ways My main one is I can't bare the heat, I could easily faint in it...........but that could be down to the heat?!? See, not very specific is it? xx

Well..,being impatient lil old me, i did another test today and another BFN!

Will take some of your thoughts on board though and have another week of hope, unless my AF arrives!


Think I'm getting to a point now where I'm driving my OH mad, but it seems to be all I talk about!
