When do stitches stop being sore??

I had Zac 11 days ago and have been discharged from MW today.

She checked my stitches and said there are only a couple left and that the episiotomy has healed well.

However, I can still 'feel' the stitches and by the end of the day they can be quite stingy.

When do they stop hurting?

This might be tmi, but my sex drive has come back with a vengeance and I want to know how much longer I gotta wait for things to feel comfy!

when i had lots of stitches with emily my 1st) it took about 6 weks for things to feel comfy andf i still cried when i had sex for the first time

To be honest, people make out stitches are agony but mine have been ok really, I have been peeing and pooping fine its just the evenings they get a bit stingy and sore. They are better than they were, but just not completely back to normal...hope its not too much longer.

Yep I have heard the same thing, I was telling a woman what my graze waslikeand how i could only go if i sat in the bath and it made me cry when I went for a wee cause it hurt so much, and she was like "yeah I had loads of stiches, didnt hurt at all" But i think it varies, Im guessing its because a graze is all open flesh and mine was deep, wide and long, but stiches kind of pull it together and cover the flesh?

i had a little first degree 'graze' this time round and it was more painful than the laceration i had with my first. Its stung when i had a wee and went in the bath etc.

My stitchs were gone by 3 weeks, still dont feel right down there, my wee hole hasnt gone back to normal lol but i would definatly say wait until after 6 weeks, but its your choice hun you do what feels right for you.

Mine feel fine now! I know whatyou mean about your sex drive coming back with a bang Jade, although still can't do anything about it thanks to me still flaming well bleeding slightly!

Im glad I didnt graze then!!! I think your right about the 'open' flesh thing Cassi, kinda pleased I had to be stitched.

Tasha, when you say your 'wee hole' what do you mean? Mine feels a bit tender, did you have this??

I think its where I had a catheter inserted....but not sure?

i grazed with Dior and it was sooooooo sore. i squeezed the loo roll so hard when i weeded and i broke he loo roll handle in the hospital
with Harley i had no cuts or any thing and had sex 6 days after. ummmmmmmm best sex ever

for me it was a month til things felt right.

actually i think i only waited a month because i was still bleeding. the stitches took about 2 weeks to feel better.

i remember now coz it was exactly a month after finlay was born that we had sex again.

and havent stopped since!!
